Motorcycle Porn.....Readers Rides

I rode a 6 cylinder Benelli in the 90's, it was like sitting on an ironing board. That seat looks very similar.
Yes the seat is not the most comfy but the experience of riding certainly outweighs the pain it is not a cruiser but a back lane scratcher. Having said that we have touring the Italian Appenines two up for the last nine years and not even thought about the discomfort.

Bought my GS in 2005, still riding it (when Boris let’s me) 70 k on the clock now, all accumulated on holidays, and I still love it. Down on the Algarve at my brothers place are a few dirt bikes, we can ride unhindered by gates or police for miles and miles up in the hills beyond Silves.:giggle:

I have fond memories of my K1200LT, mostly because I think it saved my life some 10 years ago.

Riding on the outside of a two lane Italian autoroute in torrential rain, passing a train of HGVs, one truck dropped an empty 50 litre diesel drum from behind its cab, where I guess it had been stashed, right into my path.

With no time for me to react and nowhere really to go, the bike went right over the middle of the drum which collapsed before wedging itself under the front wheel and the engine, removing 90% of my steering control.

That bike's inherent stability (and luck) let me slow sufficiently for the trucks to pass on my inside, after which I slid / skidded to a halt on the hard shoulder. Behind me was a 200 metre trail of diesel (I assume there must have been traces of diesel in the drum).

As you might expect, I thought myself lucky to survive.

FWIW that incident inspired my username on this and other forums.

Finally got to my photos, laptop was stored at house & couldn’t get to it because of Lockdown. Here are 2 of my many bikes I have owned over the years.
My lovely Serrow XT225, took me all over the Green lanes of Derbyshire, Wales and some of Scotland-
