That's this week's pension gone🙂

About 2 stone for starters......Before we start on aesthetics and accustics👍🏼

Surprisingly, the original can was not that heavy (titanium) but so ugly - you can buy them, unused on ebay for thirty quid)

The stainless can (middle pic) was a freebie from the supplying dealer - great design, awesome sound, but the fittings looked more like a meccano set! (which is why I replaced it - it's on ebay tonight)

The last one is very light, surprisingly quiet (homologated) and I think it looks the dog's doodahs (I've not tried it without the Db killer - yet)

Apparently it also adds another 6bhp - that's still only 208bhp though🙂

Nasher The black Yoshimura tank pad transforms the bike.
All the race bikes have them. Otherwise the front of tank is too flat.

Hi Yorick - thanks for the info

My riding style has has always been hunched over the front (too many years on early 70's Yamaha TZs) so I'm ok with how it is

Hard to see in the pictures but I have had the seat lowered (short, but perfectly formed, legs🙂) I found that this has made the tank easier to grip with my knees and because it's also taken out the 'hump' in the standard seat, sliding across to hang off is also easier

I know many use the Yoshi pad & many (taller) riders using a tank extender

I have found a higher screen (TT model) has made a big difference to keeping the windblast off and managed a 350 mile day a few weeks back (only 12 miles of motorway each way)

Just need for the Isle of Man to open up so I can give it a proper run!

PS to anyone wanting a seat lowered, mine also had a gel pad put in it, I can recommend Chaos Customs in Alltwen (near Pontardawe) brilliant job

I found it put too much weight on my arms, slowing the steering.
Now I can push against my groin under braking leaving my arms loose.

Also lowered the gearing. 1 off front and 3 on the rear.

Woo hoo !

I do love the look of Buells but never got on with the Ulysses I owned briefly

picked it up in Wimbledon on a very hot bank holiday and let like my nuts were cooking on the journey home... the pillion backrest / load carrier was genius though.. as was the super low centre of gravity and the belt drive

A mate of mine uses his Ulysses every year for a 2500 mile trip around Europe, he loves it. Been doing for 10+ years. he complains about his hot nuts in traffic, and hasn't had any more kids since he got the bike.........still its cheaper than the snip!.

Wouldn't use my S1 to tour on these days, although it does have the honour of being the first Buell on the Shetlands (Simmer Dimm Rally 1997), my backside was more tolerant of the 2 inch wide seat then...... But for a bit of Sunday morning hooliganism it's perfect

Touring is left to the Multi

Overhead valve with the cam between the cylinders operating the valves by short pushrods. Had to be like this to accommodate the twisted cylinders.

My baby - owned since new [Jan 2019], written off in 2015 and rebuilt by me - still using as often as possible and done 35,000 miles

How can it be new In 2019 but written off in 2015?

Sounds like a ringer to me:rofl:
