I think the plastic maggot name was down to the plastic nacelle used to enclose the headlamp and speedo, etc....no manufactures had done this since the early 60’s and this was the late 70’s.The twisted twin, aka the plastic maggot!
I can understand the origin of the former nickname but not the latter.
