In a moment of weakness, I let a guy called Mustapha sell me a Maroc Telecom Card at Assilah, he’s a robbing barstard, dont deal with him if he contacts you, a weasely little fellow in a striped jell Aber or anorak. Do tell him the long haired scouser is angry and WILL see him again and WILL cut his bollox off, that’s Karma! ;)

Wilco - saw him this afternoon he tried to get me to buy one but already had one.

Our little group settled on campsite at Asilah for couple nights. Where's everybody else?

We are at Mehdia, and very nice it is too. Bostin internet courtesy of Inwi in Asilah as MT didn’t have any SIM cards in stock and couldn’t resurrect the one we had from 2015.

More experienced Funsters, would you recommend any of these as a suggested route?

As Ken says, Camping media, 120 MAD a night water and electricity on pitch proper facilities comprehensively updated, probably one of the most up to date sites in Maroc, short walk to Town, great fish, or pick a fish in the fish market and they will be bbq it for 10dh or use the aqua park across the road 3 course lunch bread water etc 150 mad pp very good, unless your feeling adventurous though, don’t drive through Kenitra like we did, go past and come in on the 4266 it’s much easier and probably quicker! The last one Dawn IMO, as it will get you down to the sun quicker. Although you have at leat 5 or 6 days if not more to get you down to Spain. I read elsewhere you were stopping off in Beni, so it will be yonks before you get to Maroc.

Depends on how long you're stopping in Morocco but last one looks good, plenty of variety.

We pretty much did version 4 last year but not exactly.
You need to speak to people over here and get a feel for what you want.

That's a lot of driving for the day's allowed on those tours and not much time for getting the feel of the place

Thanks all, we don’t have to be home til mid April so plenty of time. Yes Ken we are hoping to stop off in Beni for a catch up with Cliff and Ger.

No interest in Marrakesh as we’ve been before.

I do fancy different Places which are on that 4th route. So glad you and Lynda have made it over Ken, be lovely to catch up with you and Simon some time x

Ah but you may require propane and the gas terminal is located between Le Relais camp site and the motorway south. ?

:giggler:

They have fitted a new one over the island bed, but only ordered 1 and we need 2. No idea if it’s yours or not..but you’ve just reminded me...

For those who haven't been before here are some photos

We have met two couples who bought insurance at the border.
One was €94 for a motorbike for a month the other €198 for motorhome for three months.

Everything is available in Maroc, it’s just sometimes you have to labour the point to get what you require. They want to sell you mucky wet butane which some seem cope with, we don’t like butane other than for the little Maroc outdoor camping stove.

Is there guardian parking there Simon ?

The quality of LPG has improved since your last visit Ken. The butane is very good now and used widely throughout Moroc and I used it on my last trip and it was fine, nice and clean.

No it’s a camp site
Thanks Ken, just catching up on this thread and now see Simon's post. at 120 Mad it needs to be the dogs B. Though is saying that campsite prices have been increasing every year and 100 Mad is becoming more and more common. Some nice campsites too.

Not for me thanks. It’s still mucky wet and we prefer propane. The gas wagon delivered to the restaurant we ate at this afternoon. I asked the driver if they had propane he replied ?

Gents! Anyone going down as far as Sidi Ifni ? There are 4 campsites there (Feb2019). If any of you get down there could you check them out for me please. I'm considering staying on one of these for around 6 weeks in Jan 2021 and need them scoped out ! I quite fancy the municipal one at the top of the town otherwise it will be between the two next to each other across from Camping Barco.

Lets hope its not the same guy who sold Simon the WiFi. You will find out soon enough anyway.

You‘ll be lucky if you can get past Calais this time in 2021. Green cards will be non existent if this years shenanigans have been anything to go by. Or perhaps you have an Irish passport!
