Morocco 2019

Have you done one for each person ? .
Sometimes a campsite only wants the drivers fiche other times everyone .. i did a load but didn't put any date on so i have some spare for next time. .

Hello all, Now in Qualidia getting WiFi out from cafe. Some info that may be useful.
Cost of diesel at first fuel station leaving Tan. Med. 8.8 MAD (shell) We have seen it around 8.5 - 8.7. Cost of toll from Tan. Med. To start of RN1 5 Euro. Cost from Kenitra to Qualidia 19.2 Euros. Aire at Qualidia is good, a large dedicated car park with a guardian and a local copper, plus the fish sellers. Cost 30 Mad per 24 hrs and they have cassette emptying too. French guy kicked off when guardian guided me into space next to him and I sort of told him to get fucked! He's now left and French Anglo relations have never been better. I think a lot of people were glad to see him go. Went to Maroc Telecom here and poor girl was out of her league so will try again at Tifnit when we pass in a couple of days time. I have bought my first fish of this trip. 2 x Dover sole for 5 euros, very, very fresh and I have paid a little over the odds but they are decent size fish and we will have them tonight. This morning for the first time it was not freezing and were now getting into it.
Mena says hello and we will pop up again when we get more WiFi. How's this for a bike!

We had a tagine from the guy that comes around and it was excellent...probably the best we had during our stays. Definitely recommend.

Be careful with the Berber language Phil, or you might end up in that well known FLT out post in the Atlas, just off the A46. (y)

Just past el jadida and we have seen our first Uk van since arriving! Was it you? On our way to essauira. Hopefully will get the hotspot sorted there.

“Sort of”? How does that work Phil, you either did or you didn’t! I guess you were just being your ever loveable, sweet and diplomatic self eh my little cherub(y)

Ps. The moped resembles one to similar to our man in Tisnit (40 miles past Agadir on the coast) Bushtar, who used to turn up everyday with fish and bread.

In case you should bump into him, Mr fixit, Bushtar, I should warn you though he is a lovely bloke but rather capricious with his allegiance!:)

And a rather picturesque view of his moped!:)

Ali was forced out by the people that run it now, they set up the elsan black tank and also to do a tagine delivery,
Don’t know how good theirs is, but agree Ali’s was a cracker Colin

Oh no! Arrived at essouira to find no longer guarded camping either at the port or the other end of town. So disappointed as we were really looking forward to visiting the souk and eating fish in the port. Anyway set off along the coast and ended up at sidi kaouki. They are building the road and it is a bit hairy in places and very dusty but at least we have a stopover!

There is a campsite a little further south than where the guardian camping used to be, we didn't rate it much though. There is also a relatively new campsite signed from the top of the hill before you descend into Essaouira, supposed to be excellent. Apparently French run and a bit pricey but suppose you could maybe get a petit-taxi into town. Be a real shame to miss one of our favourite places in Morocco.

C'mon Phil, dover sole in Qualidia? You've tried that one on us before! :D

Are euros more acceptable than dirhams? You seem to be using them a lot.

The rate is about 10 Mad per Euro, so I thought I would make it as easy as possible for people of your age to understand me ole fruit pastel.

Closed down last year and posted on the forum. I have used the campsite further south and it's a right shit hole.

You know me too well. He clearly understood my tone and body language. Two fingers waved with the word Agincore.

Will spend rest of day hete at Qualidia and then follow coast road further south and hole up for another day south of Safri. Keep safe.

Without going back thru all the thread, did someone mention a price for a green card at the border ?
Asking for a friend cheers

There was a sort of chat about page 12 but nobody has quoted an actual figure as far as I can see. If I remember correctly a few years ago a Funster in the group I took over paid around €185 for 3 months. Not a Green Card as such, just third party Moroccan motor insurance. Personally I wouldn't rely on it - if you have a biggy and have to transport your m/h back to UK or even Europe it's gonna cost big time. And you can't leave Morocco without it.........

Where have you got to Phil ?? We leave home in a couple of hours
We are below Safri in a tiny surfing spot called Mouley Bouzarqtoune. A free stopover that is nothing great but very peaceful. Will drop down below Essaoura tomorrow to try a newish 60 MAD campsite. Running low on lagar already.

Running low on lager . already

We are aiming to catch the ferry to Morocco week beginning 18th Feb.. Would like to catch up with any funsters aiming to do the same please?

Heard from Safeguard today that our 'free' green card for Maroc will arrive via post tomorrow. Its for 4 months only from Feb 1st to the end of May. Not sure if we can now make the trip now however, due to one thing and another.
