Morocco 2018

Yes you can arrange third-party only insurance at the border - if using Tangier-Med it's at the end of the row of Bureau de Change after Immigration.

not sure how to put your quote in?? we will be looking to get there around about this time. Have a small problem my car insurance for my toe car don't do green cards. MH okay may have to look for insurance that the border I think this can be done.
You can get insurance at the port, it's a bit expensive and I'm not Shure what it covers, it may be very limited best to ask if anyone has done it

Hi Dave we are looking to be down there and crossing either 21/22 Jan, I noticed Portland is also going around that time, I am going to email Carlos next week sometime to sort out our crossing, wer are also new to Morocco, but from the posts Portland is well experienced.

To be honest you dont need to mail Carlos just turn up the day before as Graham suggested; they will do all your paperwork just tell them you are with Fun: also make sure you tell Carlos about the tow car as that will require import export papers, i have heard many have got third party ins at the border to get a vehicle in then extended it at Agadir at the numerous ins companies; maybe someone else can shed some light on that tho,

The only ones O know who tried to extend insurance in Agadir were @Kiwi Coss and @bryandh .
They decided they were being ripped off royally by the local agent and wished they had taken the 90 days instead of 30 days at the port. I believe the agent was trying to charge 3 x the correct amount and wouldnt budge.
Perhaps Bryan or Colin would comment?

3) Has anyone ever picked up someone at CMN (Casablanca airport) in a motorhome? Where did you park?

Again to answer my own question for future reference: I parked our Hymer B654 on the upper level of the 2-storey section of the Terminal 1 Parking. Two other motorhomes were parked there as well. Very Easy Access!

FYI: I also met a young Belgian couple with two pre-schoolers. They were going to Senegal for 3 weeks but didn't want to drive. They said they were parking the motorhome at Casablanca Airport, leaving their registration - and their KEYS - with Moroccan Customs.

Well that's me not going, sad really but not paying the stupid price for the green card. Real pity as I enjoy the culture and the friendlyness of the Moroccan people :-(

high busman I see your post you're not going because of your green card who you are insured with I'm insured with the motorhome and caravan club very comprehensive very I find reasonably cheap and green card from Morocco this free. You may have a problem I have I am towing a car and the insurance for a green card is ridiculous I am looking at the company at the moment but will insure my car for £100 more than my present insurance but they will give me a green card in the insurance I hope you can sort the problem seems a shame to lose out best regards Dave

As already stated, we're not going this winter due to family commitments so not a problem. But I have to say that the cost of the Green Card is going to affect any future plans.

Will have to weigh up the situation when insurance renewal time comes around.

Meanwhile, everybody have a great time!

Terry, your experience and local knowledge will be missed. Im sure we will have a great time, Merry Christmas

We went end of Feb last year and found it better re weather and slot less motorhomes about later on and the big plus was you could use the pool at le Relaise. Enjoy

Hoping to make it down to Algeciras by the 24th Jan prior to crossing over for 2/3 week stay in Morocco. Are there any special places & times for meets with other Funsters?

@tometucker suggest you keep an eye on this thread then when anyone announces their crossing dates you can see if it agrees with your plans.

Also once you've crossed over the thread is an excellent way of keeping in touch / finding where everybody is.

Hi Portland, we are looking to cross about that date also.

Just been quoted £48.50 per week(over 3.5T) from same source, not happy as when I renewed 8th Dec when I was in Australia I particularly asked if they still covered Morocco. At this point they were well aware that there were problems with the green card, but didn't inform me.
I'm not happy with AIB !!!!
