Morocco 2015

First time we went to the market in Tafraoute we saw a local carrying his shopping ina wheelbarrow - it was a sheep with its legs tied together and baaing away, obviously not enjoying its mode of transport ( nor probably it's likely fate).

Drove from Agdz today to Tata where we have bumped into @voyagerstan and @Dakota Chief .
It Ain't Half Hot Mum! Lovely weather!

ROAD STATE ALERT RE R111
The R111 runs South from the junction with the R108 (Taliouine to Agdz) down to Foum Z'Guid. The first 35km from the junction with the R108 is in a pretty poor state. Some of it is being upgraded/widened and the bits that aren't under construction have been badly affected by the floods. Most of the oued crossings have been washed away and temporary diversions are in place.
It's not the worst Moroccan road I've been on and it is certainly passable as long as you are careful and take it slowly. Just be aware that that 35km section could take you about an hour!
THe rest of the road to Foum is fine.
The road from Foum to Tata is excellent and the mountains on the South side of the road are covered in a spectacular carpet of some sort of wild lavender - in afternoon sun the view will be stunning.

For anybody who has driven the R108 in previous years you may remember it was a nightmare of half completed roadworks. It is now complete and in good order. The only issue is a lot of loose gravel on top of the Tarmac which could catch you out

Beer o clock started today at 2pm. Suggy has had more birthdays that HRH Queen Elizabeth.
We have to be back up at the restaurant for 8pm tonight. Two accordionists, two guitarists, ad-hoc Moroccan musicians and maybe two ukeleles.

Any improvement on the black waste dump or it it still the dried up river bed ?
Just like you advised me last year Brian, 'follow your nose' On the upside, a smashing place to be. Will be better next year with the semi olympic swimming pool.

hows your solar doing dazz?

Great thanks.
Down here its reading 14.8v by 10.00am, 100% before 11and running fridge most of the day.
I have also put the two panels in series and that made an improvement as well.
Can't wait to get an ammeter fitted and have even more numbers to watch.
How sad is that?
Heading back thru Spain in march/april. Hope to see you both again sometime.

Camping Erkounte Park is located on the coast road between Mirleft and Sidi Ifni. It only opened before Christmas just gone, and is owned and operated by Abdel. Its not in any of the books yet but judging by the numbers here the word is getting round.

Had a late one again last night. Simon took his amp and microphone and we were entertained throughout the evening by four different 'turns'. Brilliant !

Camping Erkounte Park only been open about 6 weeks ,
it is 10K south of Mirleft , European standards campsite , Excellent facilities , Owner is a local , staff are either family or locals and most speak good English and are very welcoming ,
Modern resteraunt with good food at excellent prices ( we have eaten out every day since we arrived ) .!
The coast is a Marine conservation but the French do not take any notice of the 8ft x 4 ft sign and just plunder the sea for muscles etc ,

See you tomorrow, as lovely as the weather is here it's time to move inland (y)
We will be arriving at Tafraoute tomorrow too.
Maybe Suggy needs another birthday party at the Berber tent in town!

According to Mick and Sharon (couple with the Autotrail) all vans have been kicked off the beach front and road in Tifnit. What a shame, such a nice place to chill out.

You will be able to have a Berber style Valentines Night instead ... Lol
Cracking idea Graham.
Just need a couple of roadies to carry the gear over (Eddie was my roadie last year)
As @Barrie would say, "at our age I'd rather have a roadie than a groupie"
