Not sure where they go with the Empire now as they seem to have made the two virtually the same.

Thanks Martin, no I had not seen it, but then I only have one on order!

It is now very close to the Empire, except for the submarine hatches, but the roof lines are great and I like the dark wood which we had asked for. The front looks much more contemporary too. Thanks for the heads up.

Might have been a Morelo but not the new Palace as this video is the first viewing launched 2 days ago.

To be fair, one if then did have Palace on and 5*. I can't remember what the other Morelo was but they were there for 2 days. I knew I'd regret not taking a picture. I'd only seen one Morelo before so when I saw two, it particularly stuck in the grey matter. Without a shadow of a doubt, it was Palace it was either 17/5 to 24/5 or 6/6 to 12/6. I was there twice. Once in May and returned in June for a week.

I don't doubt that you have seen a Morelo Palace or even two but what I posted here is the new 2019 version, new front mask new rear panel, awning recessed into the roof capping, new cupboards with a bit of shape to them instead of the old flat ones. This van was shown to the dealers on Monday 14th May and shown on their facebook page a couple of days ago, I think the main launch is 12th July.

They say that they have made the mirrors even longer for this model so I will reserve judgement, you do get a good view especially right across the front of your own bumper but it can get expensive if you park right up to the doors on the Euro-tunnel carriage.

I might have to start dropping gentle hints about going to Dusseldorf.

Right ok.. I've no idea but they were definitely two different vans. One definitely was a Morelo Palace. I saw the side of both but obviously didn't examine the differences because I'd never seen a Palace before so I wouldn't know the differences anyway. My point was and is that I'd seen a Morelo Palace at Pont a Mousson Aire in May or June. They were on Italian plates so I've no idea what year it was. I've always struggled to understand, say like this, it's the 2019 model. How? It's 2018 so surely it's a 2018 model.

2019 (or whatever the next year is) models are physically launched at the Dusseldorf show at the end of August and delivery commences soon afterwards so if you want one of the first of the new models you needed your order in before the van was launched if that makes any sense.

Is the price you pay for side roller shutters a large blind spot?
Not quite "roller shutter" but I know what you mean, the side blinds are from the top so you can pull them down slightly to keep the sun out, do they create a blind spot? I don't know but I believe that some Concorde's and possibly Morelo's already have this.

It’s the ‘door post’ blind spot I’m referring to. (I know no door)
Do you mean the windscreen or A pillar? because it get wider at the bottom?

A pillar.
Most likely not a problem on the basis that a lot of vans have a big mirror there and that is no big problem.

I drove a Charisma that had those blinds and it wasn't a problem.

Looking at drivers eye level it looks quite wide, have they been like this for a while ie, not sloping side window. ?

A few years now I think, it's called progress:LOL: to be fair I think that it is good to be able to pull down the side blind a bit.

Yes I know what they do but I can't understand that if ANY vehicle is released in say 2018, how can that make it a 2019 model. Why not release it in 2019 then it is a 2019 model. Seen these things for years but I still can't comprehend it.

Because the order book is so long, that the order I placed in February 2018 will not be delivered until March 2019! By which time the model has changed.

On the blind spot, my Flair has one created by the outrigger mirrors and A pillar when going up or down a tight mountain road for example. The Morelo has one with the mirrors in a similar manner. On the different pull down blinds I think they are an improvement as I have the pull across ones and you cannot protect yourself from high sun with them, I have created a net blind which has improved the issue. The Morelo ones look a significant improvement and I look forward to seeing how they work. No pun intended but it is good!

But its still a 2018 model if its made in 2018. It might take them that long and I appreciate if its delivered in 2019 then its a 2019 but how can someone buy ANY vehicle in 2018 and it be 2019.

Most vehicles have a Mode Year designation MY2018 for example so this tells the prospective purchaser the style and specification But then there is a registration year/month, which as Michael says can be in the year preceding the MY.

Because how can they deliver in Jan 2 2019 a 2019 model if they havn't built one. I accept that very often you get a 2019 car in say September or October 2018 but with cars the gestation period is circa 18 months, what you get is the 2019 style, change of options etc.

That's very true. So I'm right. You can't buy a 2019 in 2018. Even if it's an enhanced look and extra bells and whistles, it's still 2018 so therefore until 2019, it isn't a 2019.
