It may be funny but having had a dog tear a claw using one of those grid type bridges we always carry ours over especially since they must be uncomfortable on their feet anyway.

We've carried a 25kg and 2 x 8 kg ones up and down staircases with that grid stuff on which is even worse. You don't need to carry them all at once though silly boy!

By the time I picked up one to carry it across the other 3 would have followed and walked over themselves ...which is what they did anyway.
