Beautiful picsWas like wildlife on one outside my door this morning. All friendly and playful In daylight.. ...a 4x4 pickup came round around 8am and 2 women fed all the strays this morning ....View attachment 866018View attachment 866019View attachment 866020View attachment 866021View attachment 866022View attachment 866023View attachment 866024View attachment 866025View attachment 866026
We moved on to the coast again and a lovely spot at the dunes and beach of patara .. so spent a few hours at the beach ..no people no dogs no litter.
Then the frenchies I've seen at a few other spots turned up on the beach with their 2 big white samoi ( no sure how ye spell it ) dogs. A very beautiful spot this . And surprisingly no strays here.

I need to find a garage now to get my brake fluid changed finally and I need to check the pads on the rear too. I have a spare set with me but might have to buy another set and change them on all 4 wheels now as I think they're getting low.

Yeah those 2 were a bit nervous when we first came out this morning so they were hanging round the door ready to dive back in .... I think a load of strays round the van makes them a little cautious.. but they were fine after a few minutes and all running and playing together.I like the door security on the first photo
Yeah of courseBelated birthday wishes, Tam.
Can I send the piccie of the 4 pups to Silvia. She likes to see where some of here adopted family are now.
Every other car here is either a fiat tofas dogan, the equivalent of the fiat regata in the UK or its a Renault 12. Its actually amazing just how many there are on the roads here. There's like a cult following of them . The Renault 12 was originally produced by the French from 1969 to 1980 ...I had a 1978 one myself around 1992 but in turkiye they were made right up to 2000.
Loads of garages restoring them , parts are easy and fairly cheap to come by.
In a way I think it's sad how we in the UK have allowed our government over the years to force people in to buying new cars all the time under the bs claim about the environment etc. Spain. Portugal, Greece, most of the balkans etc all seem to adopt the attitude of keeping hold of older cars and just maintaining them ...and personally I'm a great believer in that and think it is definitely more environmentally friendly to buy a car and keep it on the road for 40 years than it is to keep scrapping and remaking cars with increasingly more and more plastic parts
That said some of the turks may be a little ott going by articles like this one lol
Seller's regret: Turkish man scrambles to rebuy his rare Fiat-Tofaş
The admiration of the Turkish-built versions of the Fiat Regata is a serious matter in Turkey. In one such case, a Turkish man in Antalya was ostracized by...www.dailysabah.com
Yes I had a transit van from brand new and it was rotten after 10 years. Engine was great but living by the sea unfortunately it didn't last. Also mot standards of safety probably much higher on UK than turkey. Saw some amazing falling apart cars on the roads in Morocco with no lights etc.Trouble is, they would all rot in the UK, especially near the coast!
Aye the old 70/80s stuff .. but rust hasn't been as big an issue since the 90's most cars since then last pretty well.Trouble is, they would all rot in the UK, especially near the coast!
Transits leave the production line rusty as they are not sealed from new. Never knew why folk buy them as they've got worse over the years rather than better.Yes I had a transit van from brand new and it was rotten after 10 years. As do sprinters and crafters, they seem to rot from the inside, which leaves Fiat,Shitroen and Peugeot all the makes I’m trying to get away fromTransits leave the production line rusty as they are not sealed from new. Aye although those are mainly the bodywork , the underside seems to survive a bit better than the transhits. As do sprinters and crafters, they seem to rot from the inside, which leaves Fiat,Shitroen and Peugeot all the makes I’m trying to get away from
