Do the full body on it mate raptor smooth looks great and a tough as old nails. Fantastic stuff covers light imperfections easy👍😷
Im considering it as you get a tintable one so can make it any colour.

I see you used plastic mounts for the panels I you used the correct grade of Stika as it is important you use the correct one on plastic.

Hi James
I'm doing it with a roller and brush
I might have missed it, but what make of paint did you use for this undercoat please?
Is it just normal grey primer, or is it something more hard wearing and longer lasting than just 'normal'?

Are you keeping the primer as top coat??

Cheers James

Just a thought, for the sake of some black tape or paint. put three letters on the roof so it can be seen and read by a chopper or drone (after solar panels have been put on), just in case it gets taken.

Yes it's a step. There's no sliding door, so that's the way in. Not as handy as a sliding door, but gives more room to use.
Best of luck with the conversion.
No sliding door is good, no loud banging to wake the neighbours when it is closed. :frowny:.
I am sure you will find lots of help on here with any problems you may get.(y)

It's not primer, it's just that it has a satin finish.

My mistake looks a good job!

Cheers James

thanks for that.
Considering that you are just using a roller and brush to paint it on, the finish isn't too bad at all.
Is your latest pic just one coat, or is there a couple of coats on there?
Bit flat for my liking but I can see how it works.

There's 2 coats.
Satin tends to work a bit better using the roller method. It would of been nice to have a proper respray, but I'm guessing I'd of been needing at least 2k, whereas all this cost was about £80 all in

Today's job.
Rear cameras fitted, one points back to work as a rear view mirror, and the other points down at the back for parking.
Took a while due to mucking about behind the dash wiring it in.
I've powered it from an ignition switched source, but it goes through the button next to the hazard switch allowing it all to be turned off when not required.

Over the next few months I hope to share with you the details as I transform a 2004 ExVariety Club 17 seater minibus into a motorhome. The base vehicle is 2004 Iveco Daily 40C13 fitted with a 2.8 engine, having covered 84,000 miles.
It's being delivered at some point this week, so I hope to make a start at the weekend.

Will be interesting to see how you progress, any idea what you are going to use for insulation.

I'll mostly be used recycle plastic insulation, as there's no concern about it taking moisture in, although I'll be adding a vapour barrier too.
A couple of the windows won't be used and they'll be insulated using celotex boards.

I've been spending a few hours on the van, but it's that boring stage where there's not much to show for it.
It's now insulated and boarded below the windows. Also one side above the windows.
The tail lift is off, blimey that was heavy, and the towbar is on it's place.
All being well I'll wire up the tow electrics tomorrow and finish the insulation.

Missing a good project!

Have you driven it much yet?

There is a lwb iveco round the corner from me low mileage, god body / engine.

How do you find it drives? It's only .4m longer than my movano but seems like a whole lot more!

D day for my movano tomorrow got to find out what the garage are able to do with the engine.

Cheers James

I've not driven it loads, mainly for picking stuff up. It's surprising how small a piece of 8x4 looks in the back of it! lol

It does look good so far.
How much do you think you will get for the wheelchair lift/ramp?

<Broken link removed>

Went to see this van this morning it's massive not sure the Mrs would allow it in the drive even though it's only 16" longer than my current (broken) one!

Cheers James

it's coming along, stick at it, even the boring bits.
