Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

Weather has been shitty here today ...raining most of it so ive been cleaning inside the iveco ....looks a bit better now View attachment 541762View attachment 541763

It has let water in in the past around both the very rear window and the rear n/s side window as the walls below them are a bit spongy ...it might still be letting in so ill have to put a bit sealer around those ....the fancy side door is letting in water now and the trim around the top inside is rotten and wet ...so that needs sourced and dealt with also ...im hoping its just also needing sealed along the top .

These are the items i found during clean out ....View attachment 541766

Thats an unopened packet of cigarettes ...yet the guy was smoking prison style rollups ...

Couldn't believe the amount of sawdust under the seating etc you'd think it had never been hoovered since it was built

Figured out how to make a reasonably comfortable bed ...

Its a little short for me but if i sleep diagonally its ok .

The red scatter cushions and one ( seems to be extra back cushion ) are being put up the loft .

Im unsure at present whether this fridge is working or not ...so that needs investigation too.....that could be a right pain if it isnt.
Ach ill manage ....ive slept on a lot worse
You’re a youngster though, just like me😇, we need to look after our backs , we only got one and it need to last for a long time🤷🏻‍♂️

Those red seats are growing on me. :giggle: (y)
From the rear they look great.
You don't have a fetish for primates do you?

Well after doing some more tidying on the iveco i gave it a good wash .. probably the only wash it will get in my ownership ...took it out for some diesel and stopped in the industrial estate to get a couple of photos ....looks not to bad i thought ...although i will need to try and get a colour match on that blue so i can paint the few bits thats still all peeled.

And then this happened 🤦‍♂️ im not even sure how i did it but while trying to park it behind the car i smacked the back of my car ☹️ thats the bumper shoved back out as it was all dented and ive dented the rear arch too ....and of course ive dented the bloody van , smashed the indicator and scuffed all the bumper ive just painted ... no idea how i did it i just misjudged the front of the van ....and of course the street had to be busy at the time .

Fortunately i missed the headlight... just the indicator lens but a new one from ebay on the way ...only a tenner so not too bad ..i can repaint bumper but i wont get that dent out unfortunately

Oops! It's called karma. I bet your sister didn't come to gloat and rubbish your driving abilities.
Hard luck Tam, do not despair. I'm sure with your skills and abilities you will soon have it sorted.

Bit of filler, bit of sanding , rattle can and it will look acceptable again, but so frustrating!

In hindsight i perhaps should have left the graphics in place ......i just didn't want people thinking it was an eldiss 😁🤣

But i think it looks a little tidier now and the windows have all been resealed so hopefully no more leaks. Its chucking it down here again today so i might just take it up to the paint place st Thornton and see if the guys can identify the blue colour and i can get a touch up can ..

Having second thoughts about fitting solsr panels on it as i wouldn't trust them just being glued on and i dont know if rivnuts and bolts would be strong enough so im considering just buying a fold up portable kit ....

The gasit supplier on ebay is on holiday till October 10th so i can't get a bottle till then either.

Looks great now Tam, with regards to the gas situation you could try alugas 2000 in Harrogate (I think) they were great and very quick delivery when I got ours. Keep up the good work.
