Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

Hey Tam, this any good for you?

I looked at that but ive bought a kit with a controller for £80 ...just 100w and a 30a controller but i reckon that will do me for the few months

Has any body come accross a controller that splits 12 volt and 24 as i have 12 v leisure and 24 v engine. Sorry to but in tam . Tia chris

They do make 24 to 12v converters. I used to use one when trucking as they are 24v and my tv etc was 12v.

I have 2 solar panels going to a split controller that does 12v both ways.i take 1 side to my leisure batteries and the other to my 2 linked engine batteries .
(24 v) that i have to disconnect and link them in series before i can conect the solar. I was wondering if there was a controller that did a split 12/24 vto save me disconecting . Its no major drama and only when parked up.thanks for looking chris

Why not use a solar controller that can do 12v or 24v and use a change over switch eg EP Solar Tracer BN MPPT Charge Controller 12v/24v 20A:
Or fit a B2B 12v to 24v to charge the 24 from the 12 battery bank (and solar ) ?

I know what you mean, the rains relentless.
Could you fix up a tarpaulin sheet to work under ?
Not ideal but might allow you to get some jobs done (y)

Im thoroughly sick of this weather .... I can't get sod all done its either raining or just about to rain.
Be handy if you could just get on with it and get some of your great posts and piccies up, so I don’t keep jumping on this thread to find folk discussing their 12v this and controller that. 😁

If you have a garden fence could you put a portable garage on top of the wall and some extra posts on the other side....? Give you a bit of protection?

The vario is covered with a tarp at the minute to keep the rain of the side thats primered. Can't do anything with it till i get a dry day .

Ive a small leak somewhere above the door on the iveco which is either the awning rail or the flu for the gas fire but i need to get that fixed ASAP .

I wish lol ....today ive been going through lots of stuff ive been carrying around in Toby the last 3 years and id just emptyed in to the caravan and vario .... trying to be ruthless and get rid of stuff I don't use but its hard when you're a hoarder and think you might use something one day .... I've not as much room in the iveco so space is a premium.

Rain stopped play?
Yeah pretty much ...cant do anything on the vario and just doing small tidy up jobs on inside of the iveco. So Not much happening just now rains been on pretty much all day today .

Think we had that much in NE Sardinia last night. Best thunderstorm ever!
Aye it sure can rain there. We had fantastic thunder, lightening and rain storms last September whilst on a motorbike trip. Ten minutes later glorious sunshine though.

I need 3 good dry days in a row to get the other side of the vario done . I wanted to get the solar panel on the iveco tomorrow but the roof gland isn't here yet ....solar panel and controller is but i only want to go on the roof the once if i can

Evening Tam, we came back two weeks ago. Just passports, Covid vaccine certificates and declaration of honour required for us to enter France. AHC for the dog. We now have a French passport for the dog. Going France to Italy nothing required, there isn’t anyone to show anything to.

this is guidance ( from Shuttle )

Fully vaccinated passengers, and passengers under 12 years old, will not be required to present negative COVID tests to enter French territory, but proof of vaccination status will need to be presented at border controls.

You will not be required to quarantine upon arrival in France. Unvaccinated minors travelling with fully vaccinated adults will not be required to quarantine.

Important: Prior to travel, you can upload the required document above to your booking by logging into your account/booking and completing your Health Declarations. Failure to do so will result in manual checks being required which could delay your departure.
