Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

when im buying vehicles as nothing is ever local
That must be sods law, everything that interests me is in Scotland, and I too have flown the length of the island to buy a car, it was 3 years old and to avoid returning home like you did after bailing out of the deal, I put up with the grinding rear brakes that were obvious the first time I pressed the brake pedal! There are some tossers around, it was a dealer, he knew I was coming from the south coast.

Yep everything i want seems to be down south ...theres vans available in Scotland but always overpriced or not suitable...that guy in essex gave me a load of tosh about being a good christian and he wouldn't lie etc ...the van was full of holes worst ive ever seen .

I sincerely hope this guy is genuine because its so hard to tell.

I think some assume if youve travelled a distance youll just take it ... minor issues fair enough id just renegotiate but major stuff i just walk away.

Yep, 2 of our cars and our van all came from Scotland!

Its also weird that everytime ive sold one its went back down south.

The vario that i bought was from yorkshire but it originated from Edinburgh so its came home 😁

I think this one I'm going to see the guy said came from highland but not sure if he meant the Highlands of Scotland or if that was the name of the dealer.

I went to near Lancaster to see one , decided to buy , had to get train to go back and pick up when it was ready . Mad rush in Birmingham to connect , just made it after having to literally run as my arrival train was late . When i got V5 found that owner was only 20 miles away from my home , but had transported it to his mates business as he sold that type of vehicle. Flew to Glasgow to get daughters first car . :)
Never seem to get good VFM vehicles near home ? :(

It seems to be common sods law .

I can't find a decent priced diesel estate car just now either ....lots coming up around London and Manchester with better prices ... probably due to the clean air zones ...so i may have to travel again for a car but im in no rush for that ... might just wait till im back from travels.

If id bought a camper with back doors id not need one but for collecting wood and insulation etc i need something bigger.

Ive got tyres needing changed on the vario and wheels to get sandblasted ...6 of them and i can only get 1 in my car at a time 🤣🤣

Well done Tam you driving back tonight?

Safe travels

Cheers James

The problem for us motorhome users who are used to going at our pace to our time scale when we want is that you have to put control in other people's hands on public transport travel.
I couldn’t agree more. l used to be constantly crossing the Atlantic and hated Airports and the people within, The journey to a destination is never too long or too far If it’s possible to reach in a Motorhome.

Are there any supprises under the bunks....!!

Cheers James

Ok so im at truckhaven in cumbria ... wanted to get a bit of miles done before giving my verdict.
Seems to drive ok ...very quiet plenty of power sits at 70 quite happily. Very comfortable to drive but i cant see through this crap sunstrip so thats getting removed ....it needs work of course which is to be expected at this price but im happy with it so far ....its got a few quids worth of equipment in it so if it all works that will be dandy ...ill post interior pics when im home as the spare wheel a huge step and electrical cables are all lying on the floor ...but heres the outside and the dodgy paint

Looks like a lot of van for the money! Can’t even buy a panel van for that these days unless it’s a rust bucket, the paint scheme you can just see as an excellent anti theft device lol😇😆🤣

I reckon that's way over the vans towing limit.

Looks good for that price.

Has it just got a single door or a slider as well, it’s a few grand just to get a single door like that fitted on a panel van if you went to the likes of IH.

Greggs steak bake, food of the Gods. Safe journey.

I will take the Renault A110 off the top tier of that trailer, its worth the cost of the MH towing it, and it should make him legal to tow that piece of Nissan Edit: Ford crap under it.:giggle:
How does your mum feel about parking her car in the street?, or doesn't she know yet? Guess she will find out in the morning eh?:giggle:
Good van for the money, safe journey home.
