Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

Well toby has gone and after a busy day trying to put all my stuff in the caravan im now worn out ...i seem to have a cold ☹️ and have felt lousy all day .

Just had a Chinese for dinner and im now in bed lol

Had a lousy sleep the last 2 nights and im feeling run down.

Nae telly ☹️ so ive got radio 2 on and im gonna see if i can get a decent sleep.

Pretty sure its just a cold i have as no temperature and my sense of taste and smell etc is fine. Had my second jab on sunday but i don't think its down to that

Dogs are feeling very strange in the caravan ...not sure jade approves

I had the AZ vaccine. First jab I just felt a bit low for a few hours that evening. Second jab hit me hard the next day for most of the day. Flu type symptoms, aches all over, sore throat. I was fine next morning. It was just an immune response.

My first jab made me feel like I had done ten rounds with Tyson so it could be a reaction to your jab Tam.
 
They are feeling a bit more at home now.

Im still figuring them all out but i have fridge on 240 , cooker and oven etc all works , truma ultrastore seems to work for hot water. Not figured out the heating yet as it has a fire which has blow heating i think. I wondered why the toilet wasn't flushing but then realised its got its own water tank and ive not filled it. Be interesting to see how long 40l of water lasts me though. 2 silly wee 6kg calor bottles so i might have to look in to an alternative for those for winter. Hot water is gas only , heating is gas or electric once i figure it out

Sold your van, bought a caravan. What are your millions of followers going to do now?Might have to buy a book myself as no travel blog to look forward to this year from Tam.

Well i wont be towing this to Europe thats for sure ...im definitely a motorhomer not a caravanner..never thought id own a caravan again but its a stop gap thats all. My plan just now is to crack on with the merc but if the weather gets to a point where im suffering i may well buy a circa £10k van and head off to warmer climates for 90 days ... I had decided last year that one way or another i was selling Toby either to buy something else or build one . It was a great van but was time for a change. I didn't need to sell it just now but it worked out fine.


So a winter trip isnt completely off the cards if a decent van pops up later in the year when the weather turns.

If it stays mild and dry though ill get as much of the merc done as i can . I know it isn't going to be completed this year anyway thats for sure.

I’m hopeful that you will get a deal from a staycation buyer.
I fully understand the need to not be in the uk over winter, Phil absolutely hated the fact we couldn’t get to warmer climes last winter.

Methinks you are suffering from stress which is not surprising.
I would be a raving loony if I all that on my plate. Also your missing traveling, try to unwind, and now toby has gone so has a lot of stress. Good luck to you Tam.

A lot were saying it was a good un in Scotland, we had a good march, but been cold n wet recently in Stirling.

We are somewhere else for a month and I know where I'd rather be! 😎 🇪🇸
 
Im still knackered with this cold despite a pretty good sleep last night ...done a bit more cleaning and tidying in the caravan but not much else. Hoping i feel better tomorrow as it was a very warm sunny day today and i could have been doing some work on the bus if didn't feel so knackered.

Mum and sister convinced its just a cold ...i definitely dont have a temperature and my taste and smell etc is fine ... don't even really have a cough ... just the odd cough here and there ...but a bit of flem and just feel a bit knackered . Feels pretty much like any other cold I've had before....i had said about getting a test yesterday but i thought my vaccine might affect that . Feel better today than yesterday ... hopefully tomorrow ill be back to normal.

I did wonder that ....that and im not entirely trusting of the PCR tests anyway

Quite a lot of staff at our place same symptoms Tam, a bit of cold, odd cough, then tested positive.
