Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

Aye the chassis and the main body bits is actually very solid .. ..nothing rotten that can't be fixed
I think you joined to be a Funster…….just to show off your Skills!!!🤣 and to get a good applause 👏
Bloody Brilliant
Love it 😊

Sorry but its just how I see it. I once had an Alfa Romeo Alfetta and the old adage was that Alfa sold you an engine and gearbox and threw the body in for free
I've often wondered why anyone buys an Alfa. Overpriced, unreliable rust buckets.
I had a friend with one and used to pull his leg about the number of times it broke down

In other news ive 4 days till im homeless 🤣🤣. Toby goes to his new owner on Tuesday. In the end i turned down the caravan as i felt it was too small and i don't think the shower in it would have worked. So im now on the lookout for a cheap caravan but i also have the problem of no towbar. But given that i really need a larger car too as i need to pick up wood and other materials soon im also on the look out for a larger car but one thats still good on fuel and cheap road tax ... something like a volvo v50 1.6 or skoda Octavia 1.6 diesel estates.

Living on the edge here lol

You do realise it's only a month or so until you set off on your winter travels to entertain us in the manner to which we have become accustomed? No Toby and a very draughty Kouros!!
😉 You never know whats round the corner

To be honest buying it blind wasn't the best move and it had been botched up a few years back with a cheap respray filled with newspaper and bodyfiller. But now ive got stuck in to it im quite pleased how its coming along. Ive only really this back door/ window area to sort out now and plate up the windows and thats all the bodywork welding done.
Are you spraying it, or is it going to a body shop ?

Nice old bmw 5 series estate, very good mpg , nice auto box , very reliable and a lot of space?

I've been watching downhill mountain bike racing (World Championships on BBC, GCN+ and Red Bull TV this weekend) and I've just came across this, by Bernard Kerr (downhill racer and manager of Pivot MTB team). I like the colour of his Vario.

He did a few build videos, he's a top mtb rider yet quite humble.

Ill most likely find a spray painter to paint it. It will be getting done in raptor but too big for me to do myself. I will be doing the roof myself but that wont be seen much anyway with the full length roofrack i have planned.

Having only paid £30 a year roadtax on these wee Alto's im now reluctant to run anything that costs a lot to tax . So im after specific models . The 1.6 diesel Volvo's , octavia etc are all £20 a year tax.

But typically also miles away ☹️

Perfect example

If anyone is in surrey and could have a quick look at this for me it would be handy 😁

I pay 20 per year 320d , so a 520 will maybe not be much more? If you go 530 or 535d then it will fly up?

We use a commercial spray painter in Broxburn (Armit Motors) every time I crash the motorhome. He also repainted the wings on my plane (which I didn’t crash) :)

Ill bare that in mind when i get to that stage. Ill probably leave the paint job till after ive fitted it out. Because i know i would probably bash it with wood etc going in and oot

What year is that though?
Mine is 2012, so yes not in the Volvo bracket you posted, that’s looks a bargain but the v50 is not of the same quality as the v70, you have to exercise some care with these…….

My 520d (2011) is £13.56 a month.

Not too bad, considering the quality of the car, drive like a dream I suspect? Never had a better car myself, the twin turbo diesel, 185 BHP or so, coupled to the 8 speed auto box is a silky smooth ride, shame they don’t make a MH lol.

Re: 520d - Agree, so far... and 42 mpg

Did you new sensor arrive and did it sort the problem on Toby?

Just get a roof rack for your little car to put materials on. Cheaper than buying another car.
Lol

Id get more for this wee puddle jumper than i paid for it so if i pick up a bigger car under £1k ill get it back for this one.
