Mercedes vario 814 self build bus to FLT palace

I've stuck an add in classified. Let me know if ive missed anything
Looks good Tam, worth mentioning how many belted seats, I think it's only 2.27 wide & new in "new washbasin" is not spelled nee. :giggle:
At the New Forest show there was a B544 2006 up for £32k it sold within hours, perhaps you should add a couple of k to the price.
I thought you would have kept the refillable gas bottles for your build.

Yes it only has 2 official seat belts but 2 lap belts on the side sofas for pets but thats about it.

I thought it would be a fair price to ask without lots of going back and forth ...im in no rush to sell it till the vario is finished but would let it go now for the right price.

Im fitting an underslung tank on the vario so not needing the bottles

Glad it sailed straight through Tam, this made me smile last week on the Spanish forum. 😁 Bob.

Its amazing how regardless of how well we know our vehicles or how much maintenance we do etc its still nerve wracking going for an MOT

Van looks good, I'd advertise it at £30k expecting to get haggled down a bit. You can always reduce the price if it doesn't sell.
Its only on here at the minute and id be happy with the £26.5k so will see how that goes for now

If i out it on gumtree ebay etc i might raise it slightly

Stuck it on facebook hymer for sale group too just too see ....put it on there at £27500 so if someone buys from here they get a bargain. Theres a 584 on Facebook at 27500 and another 2005 on at 37500 so all in all i think mine is very fair priced for its present condition .

Have you discussed with Mum the possibility of your living in a caravan on the drive? are there any bi-laws/ clauses preventing this - are you maybe jumping the gun a bit? You need to keep Mum happy and not take her for granted. 🤔😊

I think yours is very good vfm. As you’re not desperate for the dosh (I assume),why don’t you stick a couple of grand extra on it (rhetorical question),you can always come down for a bargain hunter.

PS And listen to your Auntie Val  ;)

Tam, some people will always see a problem, whereas some will see a solution. Don’t be put off your ideas by those seeing problems.
Any update on the build or are you waiting for the blacksmith to do his work?

Thanks Tam, what bike are you thinking of carrying? I keep thinking of taking a bike but my Super Tenere is far too heavy at 265kg.

Ive not decided yet ...ive nearly bought a couple as they were well priced

A Yamaha fazer 600 ....189kg
A Honda cbf600 ....209kg
Yamaha dragstar 650 ....249kg
Ktm 390 ....149kg

Obviously id prefer lighter than heavier ....but also want a bike i like so ive asked him to build it capable of carrying up to around 300kg ...

Ive also the length of the bike to consider as the van is 2.2 metres wide and a dragstar for instance is not far off that in length

Can't decide between a cruiser a tourer or an off roader 😁

For where you will be parked up most of the time while travelling, I'd go off road bike.

Nice sunny day here .... drove up to see how blacksmith was getting on as its been there since monday

Hasn't even started it yet

Im losing the will to live with these folk who just collect customers vehicles and do nothing to them

And to add insult to injury ive a mother who keeps telling me " this is a sign and you're not meant to build it " etc etc etc

Totally fed up at the minute

Oh dear, poor Tam!
I do sympathise. I thought it was just solo women that had to put up with this sort of nonsense from the male of the species.
I grew up believing that in the absence of wealth one's word was a precious commodity. If I said I'd do something then it got done and by the time or date promised.
That aspect of life seems to have changed, I suppose these people no longer care, if that dis-satisfied client takes his job elsewhere- who cares, there will be another sucker along to take his place pretty soon.
It makes the world a poorer place. 😶😣

Why not leave it there and start doing other jobs on it there.

Keep on going Tam. It will soon be back with you and you will be in control again. Another point; I have rebuilt a couple of houses in my time and when I start taking them apart they are worth far far less than when I started and people get critical. You are in a similar position at the minute but you will have a superb motorhome in the end. Good Luck.
