Allotments for fulltimers, what a great idea:thumb: Nothing like your 'home' grown tomatoes:BigGrin:

This year we've spent most of our time in the garden, not having had the camper.
We've had 12 tomato plants, 8 pepper plants, 6 assorted marrow types, strawbs, 25 seed potatoes, all outside.
They have been fantastic, only ever had greenhouse before, the peppers are huge and never tasted any as good before
Didn't think of M:Doh:

Obviously not Western France. Last March here was dry, sunny and warmmmm. No fog. It was brilliant:BigGrin:

Just so Funsters can know what to expect at Majal next March...

Then we can arrange a massive fully unserviced pitch of 1000m2 with a big bonfire in the middle (fire wood not included) for you to gather and dance around.

Dear Funsters,

I´m off for my holidays, I'll be back on the 29th So I won´t be able to answer any questions until then.

I´ll be travelling to Las Hurdes, a wild & misterious region in Extremadura.

See you!

Raimon

I wonder how Raimon is getting on on his holidays.... Las Hurdes looks like it is nice and quiet, coming back to work will be a shock :Eeek: Just to recap...all pitches at Marjal have electric hook ups  Jane

My holidays have been great (thanks for wondering about them). Las Hurdes is a beautiful area to visit, with many fresh and clear streams coming down from slate mountains where you can have a lovely swim. Some villages are quite isolated and it feels like going back in time 40 yrs, my neighbors were goats and donkeys (I miss them)

On the other hand, today I filmed the building site and works are going really fast. Video is already uploading and I will soon post it.

Raimon

Could you tell me if the swimming pools will be open when the rally is on please.

Wait for the rally, you'll be well pleased, once FUNsters have a few drinks they sound like donkeys and eat like goats.

Hi Raimon. Just be glad you're not Welsh, they miss their sheep.

Ivy

ps. I'd really love goats, donkeys or sheep for neighbours. Nothing wrong with mine, but animals are lovely.

Carol, regarding your question about the swimming pools, I´ve been told the outdoor swimming pools will be closed for bath from November to February but open for sunbathing. So then it should be open for the Rally.

Concerning the sheep issue, I have to say that I'm only half welsh, so I only like half of the sheep, not all.

Here is the latest video update (sound is on its way)

Can I ask a few questions raimon?

Is there wifi to every pitch?
Is the wifi included in the pitch fee?
What speed is the wifi?
What amperage is the electric at pitch?
What waste facility is there at pitch? Grey? Black?
Can campers hook up to the water permanently? (City water hookup?
Can campers hook up to the waste point permanently?
Is there TV hookup at pitch?
Is it okay to set-up a satellite dish on the pitch?
Do motorhomers that tow cars have to keep their car on the same pitch or can they park their car on any nearby empty pitch (without additional cost)?
Can campers erect washing lines on pitches?
Can they attach washing lines to trees?

That's it for now :BigGrin::Wink:

It's hard to believe that as I view Raimon's excellent video (Still scampering up the stairs I see !) that an army of yellow jacketed workers are beavering away !!
I couldn't see where the Helicopter landing pad was being constructed :Rofl1: :Rofl1: :Rofl1:

Bryan, We stayed at the sister site Camping Marjal earlier this year and have spoken directly to Raimon about the new site.

I would imagine that ALL pitches will pickup wifi but like every other camp with such facility the closer to the ariel the stronger a signal. Each pitch will have 16amp, metered and it costs €0.35 per kw.
Each pitch is fully serviced for water, grey and black waste.

No problem setting up your own satellite dish, I'm sure they will install the same that's at Camping Marjal but you only got 4 English channels.

The Spanish do not like anything that will damage the trees and people at Camping Marjal have been asked to leave for doing so.

If you pick the right size pitch there are three sizes:

Confort pitch 90-95m²
Premium pitch 96-130m²
Luxe pitch 130-180m²

You should have plenty of room for RV,car & trailer.

Mick

They like trees! Well if his reputation for tree demolition using his Jeep precedes him, they won't let Bryan on site:Smile:

Dear Bryan, I see Mick has answered right most of your questions (thanks Mick) but here is the "official" reply:

Can I ask a few questions raimon? Yes you can

Is there wifi to every pitch? Yes there is
Is the wifi included in the pitch fee? Yes it is
What speed is the wifi? We are currently negotiating with internet providers, but it should be fast.
What amperage is the electric at pitch? 16v
What waste facility is there at pitch? Grey? Black? Both
Can campers hook up to the water permanently? (City water hookup? Yes they can
Can campers hook up to the waste point permanently? Yes they can
Is there TV hookup at pitch? Yes there is
Is it okay to set-up a satellite dish on the pitch? Yes it is
Do motorhomers that tow cars have to keep their car on the same pitch or can they park their car on any nearby empty pitch (without additional cost)? Well, officially they can't, but depending on occupation we will be tolerant on that matter. We will just ask you to move the car elsewhere if the pitch where it is parked becomes occupied.
Can campers erect washing lines on pitches? Yes they can
Can they attach washing lines to trees? No, they can´t. It is forbidden. We like our trees

Cheers

Raimon

Tie washing lines to trees... :Eeek: Dreadful behaviour... anyone tying washing lines to trees on Quinta Majay will be attacked by ants and forced to watch old dvds of Crystal Palace... (assuming someone has bothered to produce some...) :Rofl1:

You have registered a casual interest posting on this thread. Just decide roughly when you want to come and what size pitch, most of us are being economical and selecting the Confort pitch. Then post agaln on here. No deposits just yet. hope that helps. Jane :-)

Here is the latest video update from the campsite, we are nearly there! (Soundtrack on its way)

I am considering a visit during the Funster "Meet" but need a cast iron guarantee from Raimon and two other members of top management that the video "music" (:Eeek:) will not be playing over the site's speaker system at any time during my visit... :Rofl1: :Rofl1: :Rofl1:

:Rofl1: You can have my cast iron guarantee on your music request. I didn´t pay attention at the lyrics, I just look for a song of similar duration to the video that more or less suits the images.

Music change on its way (with youtube's audioswap feature)

There are canals (for agricultural purposes) in the surroundings (some locals do fish there) There is the El Hondo Lagoon nearby but I think it is forbidden to fish there as it is a natural preserve. Anyhow you have the beach 15 km away. Also there is the Crevillente reservoir where you can fish bass, but I think you need a fishing licence to fish in the reservoirs of the Region of Valencia.

to fish anywhere in spain you need a licence (permiso/licencia de pesca) wether in rivers, canals, reservoirs or the sea.

Licence requirements
In Spain there is no true national licencing system but you do need a regional licence. The price of the licence will vary from 5€ - 12€. You can buy a Spanish licence (licencia de pesca) at the fishing department of the regional administrative office.

SEA FISHING in Torrevieja

In order to fish from a small boat, in the harbour or off the breakwater or rocks along the coastline, you should first be in possession of a licence to carry out the activity. The licence, called a 'Licencia de Pesca - Maritima de Recreo' costs a little less than a freshwater licence and is valid for a period of either one or three years. There are no 'short term' licences available.
