Rally Maypole Bash at Old Mo's, 4th May to 8th May

Just wanted to say thanks to to @Ambilkate & @Carol for all their hard work and to @old-mo for the great location & organising the fab weather:*.

It was great to catch with folks and put a few more faces to names.

I hope you will to take it easy for a bit now Kate

See you all soon X

Maypole meet, my ar$e ... there wasn't one and we were all ready for a bit of prancing around the pole ...
Ha - easy to say that now - when there is no danger of you actually being asked to do it! :D2

Dancing was planned for Sunday afternoon, but the general consensus was 'In this heat? You must be joking!'

True, there was no pole, but I was going to stand in the middle while you all danced round me. There could have been a pole, but who knew ribbons were so expensive? So it was just to have been yer standard ceilidh dancing, as practiced at weddings & village halls the length & breadth of this fair land, but the very untraditional English heatwave put paid to any traditional English dancing (which would have been to Irish music anyway, just to be non-traditional!)

I can only echo what has been said already - many thanks to Kate & Bill for organising, to Carol & Eddie for assisting, to Maurice & Judy for providing a fantastic venue & to everyone who attended for making the weekend what it was.

As always, good to catch up with friends of long standing & others more recent, and to add a few more to that list. Thanks also to Geraldine @cliffandger for the opportunity to play a few tunes together.

The hot weather affects Jane's MS quite badly, so we left yesterday to travel home at a leisurly pace in relative air-conditioned comfort. Thankfully, the only Bank Holiday traffic queues we encountered were all crawling in the opposite direction. :sneaky:

STOP PRESS .... I understand @old-mo's joke book may have survived last evenings inferno ....

... Sadly the book is so old it's carved onto non flamable stone tablets ... so will have to employ a crusher next time.

What a great weekend at @old-mo 's maypole weekend ( without a maypole) but a superb marque, lovely pitches . That to Kate and Bill @Ambilkate for their organising and all the funsters that joined in the fun, the suppliers of all the firearms and ammunition and their expert tutelage of weaponry, great bacon butties , with eggs from the bacon butty crew. Geri for the singing and campfire ditties. Thanks for a fantastic meet guys.

We had a good trip back, so the perfect end to a perfect weekend. Thanks to Mo and Judy for buying such s lovely place and being perfect hosts and to Kate, Bill, Amanda, Carol and Ed for all their hard work.

We had a brilliant weekend with old and new Funster friends, Stafford was lovely, the quiz was good, as was the treasure hunt and John’s weird Bob’s Block game.

The Bacon and Eggs were just what was needed, and the sunshine topped off what was always going to be a wonderful weekend. Put us down for next year .... (y)

Next year? Surely a quarterly event....

I was hoping monthly (y)
No. Not monthly, my liver can't handle the pain, plus with all that lamb and mutton you have to consume, post slaughter/cull Oh my cholesterol levels will be thought the roof, I blame @old-mo and his marksman training in the Brixham Girl guides during the Boar War.
Oh the irony of failed humour.

Please do not encourage ANYONE to visit this awful site, if you do then it may be virtually impossible for funsters to get on.

The daft old bugger has posted /advertised his site on a number of websites. Please write some really bad reviews, otherwise you won't be staying in the forseable.

I'm thinking in terms of
Awful site not a level pitch within 4 miles, bring your own sherpa

The owner is a grumpy old git, swears a lot in between farting and burping. Has not changed his underpants since last Xmas.

No dogs allowed as the site owners breeds pitbull dogs.

Very noisy due to its close proximity to a chicken farm one side and a pig farm the other side.

It was ok until the owner started to cut the grass at 6:25 AM, using a converted Harley Trike as a lawnmower. The noise was deafening .

Owner has been known to ask 'punters' to pose naked on his tractor, either gender.

He collects poo and fereezes it, then offeres to sell gourmet burgers.

He has free wifi at 101GB per second, costs about £72 per hour..

He adds extras to the pitch fees £1 if you wear pink, £2 for each square foot of awning (used or not) he has a comprehensive database of all awning sizes going back to 1953.

See you all soon.
