Majestic 196....Y/N

...and you actually made it home without the kitchen doors falling off, the ceiling sagging the floor giving way , the wheels coming apart the whole body still connected to the base ..we'll done :sneaky::ROFLMAO:
Haha I did! But everything in the cupboards wasn't properly stowed, so it was so noisy that I had my noise cancelling headphones on for the 4 hours drive 😅

It made me obsessive with making sure plates/cutlery/oven trays ect are stored in a way so they don't make noise!

Seen this on YouTube today ...

You really think repairs would cover that lot? It would be months off the road with no guarantee of success, just as the microwave cupboard repair failed within 2 weeks. You would also need to have it repaired at the dealer you bought it from, no other Elddis dealer would touch it.

I used the Consumer Rights Act to get it rejected, and guess what? The large dealership I bought it from promptly sold it on rather than repair it. I wonder why?

Also Elddis are probably the only motorhome manufacturer to be still using a wooden framing technique whereas most others now use a tough plastic instead, which, of course, is rot proof when the dreaded sealant fails round one of the joints and damp gets in.

Hey ho, its your money, enjoy.

No such problems with our Elddis and very very happy with it. Just because you have a duffer, does not mean that all Elddis's are bad, all motorhome manufacturers have baduns if you have been following many of the threads on the forum, even the German manufacturers are knocking out some rubbish builds these's days.

Your correct there...we reasently got a top of the rang 65"Sony TV with all the bells and whistles..it was an expensive bit of kit but I'm a Sony fan boy...after about a month the telly would take no remote control instructions..the TV itself needed a new infra red/ WiFi receiver for the remotes to operate...there you go even good reliable stuff can sh!t the bed sometimes 😀

As I said above, the same model 9 months later at the NEC was exhibiting the same faults. I've had a good number of motorhomes and caravans over the years but I've never had anything remotely as bad as this both for the incredible range of major problems but also the seriousness of them.

I wonder how you'd feel if it was your children or grandchildren playing on the floor when this fell off the ceiling. The van had been used for just 4 days before this happened and was about 6 weeks old:

You can whittle and gripe on as much as you like, but at the end of the day as I said, I'm more than happy as plenty of other Elddis owners are on the forum with their vans.

By the way, no kids or grandkids, so that one fell flat on its face. :ROFLMAO:

He did ask for views but you only came on after he then posted that haven taken views, he had bought it. So you can understand, perhaps, that your post not as helpful as you may think.

As I understand it the Elddis 6 year warranty for new owners as yourselves is taken from the date that the MH was purchased as new, i.e if the MH you purchase second hand is 2 years old then there will be 4 years left to run on the Elddis warranty.

When we bought our Elddis 175, as I remember the Elddis warranty was only 6 years back then, and as our van was nearly 4 years old when we bought it, so we did not bother transferring over the warranty as our van was in great nick and very sound plus Elddis wanted an administration fee of 60 odd quid to do the transfer.

Correct. For the second owner it will be 6 years from the date it was first registered. Just make sure the transfer has been done and you get it serviced at the correct intervals.

So we were told by the sales guy that we would get the remainder of the 10year warranty which would be 9 years as it was registered on May 2021.
I'm not sure that he didn't know himself as he's not an elldis dealer or he seen a couple of green horns.
Now we will end up with nearly half that as a warranty.
The wife drove up the morning to see him but he wasn't there...she not happy and wants to pull out now !!
Do all MH manufacturers offer a ten warranty on there work and if they do do they also cut the warranty basically in half .
Not sure what to do now ..waiting on him to ring me back .

Perhaps the dealer would be prepared to honour the warranty if that’s what he thinks!! ;) ;)

He rang me there basically saying he didn't know that and did we want our deposit back ...he didn't really care ...

It's Eldiss that make the rules it will be the remainder of 6 years from new as the van is "second hand"
Tell the dealer yes you would like your money back as not as guaranteed.see what he says . might give you a discount or something else. Couple of Gasit bottles for example. Or a bike rack. Give it a try.

If you look at your local Elddis (motorhome) dealers website, it says they have one due into stock March 22.
It is one of their dealer specials which will be a similar spec to the one you are looking at.

I rang them ..even though it says available in march errrrr No !! One coming in April..gone also ..they're not sure when they'll get them in again 🤔
This is what your up against..if you can find me a new or nearly new majestic 196 tell me .
I'm gonna have to eat humble pie and stick to what we've got .

Wifey was looking on line and warranties for motorhomes are all much the same ...infact the elldis is as good as your gonna get for a "used" MH.
