Rally Chat Lymington Seafood Festival, Golf, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Isle Of Wight (& More!) Rally August 2018

Took me 30 mins to get through Lyndhurst. Decided on a "scenic" drive towards Salisbury. Satnav tried to take me through a 6ft 6ins wide gap so diverted up a road through the forest full of pigs and donkeys! (Unfortunately saw a deceased donkey too. :() Then a cyclist took a tumble ahead of me , but was ok. Quite a drive!

Glad that's all over, drunks, loud singing, cheap gin, strippers, pole dancing, mud wrestling, wife swapping, drug taking, sheep racing, donuts in Hymer, did i mention cheap gin. DIY tattoos, pencil sharpening Competition, knife throwing, dwarf throwing, catching the projectile vomit competition, breath holding, did i mention cheap gin..

Ah well see you all next year.

Shifty the happy Hooker and their demonic guard dog Tilly.

Nah the donkey was okay. He was just having a nap (y)

Shattered just reading about our great break we had in Lymington

Thought we had got it wrong when going to Lymington, going off right towards Ringwood before Salisbury and missing Lyndhurst and going round the lanes via Burley but when coming back today and spending half an hour through Lyndhurst and half an hour through Salisbury realised we had taken the right route first time.
Enjoyed our first rally and thanks to Alan and Karen for hard work, the marshalls on that first day and well done on the charity collection.

Can’t really add to what’s been said all ready...........:D

But I will.....

Second rally for me and thought I’d never go on another one but now looking at going to some others next year when I’m back from the winter down south...:sun:

It was really great to put some more faces to names and didn’t get to meet everyone but I’m sure they were aware I was there..;)

A good rally and all due to the organisers and Marshall’s that did a great job so credit to them...well done (y)

I’ll let you all know which ones I put down for so you can avoid them....:D2

Smith and Sharp, coming to a name change near you soon....

did you pick up as requested my pre paid whole salmon

We will be setting off soon - looks as though the sat nav is taking us the pretty way! As long as we meet up with Derek’s brother for lunch. Thanks to all the marshalls for their sterling work. We may not have joined in the evening soirées but we’ve had a lovely time.

Sneaked off earlyish to get gas and head to Hereford.

Cannot really add anything that hasn’t already been said but thank you all for all your hard work making it such a successful rally. Lovely to see some old friends and meet some new people. The little extras like the marshalls highlighting the way in for example on such a hideous day was greatly appreciated. Hope you all get to chill for a bit now. Thanks again.

Pam sorry to have missed you even though we were parked opposite, I did however have a nice chat with Derek and had a look through your (smarties' ) windows

as they say "next time"

Shortly it'll be;

So long Lymington and thanks for all the fish*

Just pottering about, at the moment, mug of tea & a sausage bap...
Heading off to Winchcombe C&CC for a couple of nights before being Billy No Mates at the Old Bush Blues weekend.
Catch up with some of you at the "Plums"

Thanks of course to Karen & Alan @Wombles and their merry band, the marshalling team. It's been fun (y).

What a great long weekend meet. Thank you to all involved in running this meet. We had a lovely time catching up with old friends, making new ones and meeting some for the first time, even though it feels as though we have known them for ages.

Ate too much and drank too much but hey ho!

Sorry if I missed saying goodbye to anyone. Have a safe journey home to you all.

We had a brilliant time, we want to pass on our thanks to the Organisers and all the Marshalls, we appreciated all your hard work.

It was great to meet more lovely Funsters, it is amazing how much fun you can have in a field come rain or shine.

We arrived home yesterday and the sad news was that the young donkey @Wendo55 saw was dead just a few hundred yards from our home, each one that dies is because some pillock is travelling too fast, the usual excuse being "it just walked out in front of me and I just couldn't stop quick enough."

Thank you @Wombles Karen and Alan and all your army for all your efforts marsheling. Thank you @Taran_Las Phil for the light entertainment on our arrival. (hope the rib repairs soon).

Sorry I didn't see @Mousy . I was looking forward to a cach-up, didn't see @scousebird or @Tanya_and_Mick , or @Crazylegs , but met several others for the fist time @Smith and Sharp and @Jenben , @highwayman and at long last @Scout , thanks for the man-hug Phil and the few words. Had a nice reunion with Colin and Brenda @retiringjoyce where we came close to winning the quiz thanks mainly to the brainy-Brenda and luverlea to see @Les & @Ven and to see our very special friends @Armytwowheels Sandra and Colin and @cliffandger who joined us in our Hurst Castle adventure, not to mention providinf the wheels to get there.

@DLT was there explaining the real reason why @swanseajack13 couldn't make it!
.......................(too busy at work was all my eye amd kitty blew it!)

Thank you all, @ShiftZZ Dave and Lorraine, @Debs , @DavidG58 and Bev and what about the weather, yesterday the sun came out and everyone came out of their vans and chatted in the heat whilst the grass dried. Brilliant.

I'm bound to have missd someone off my list but hey! Lets do it all again next year. Griff

If you would like to test your observation skills, then here are a few clues you can find answers to on the walk from the field we are all in to the High Street

Good luck!

Hi all,
I would like to add my thanks to all the Funsters at the Lymington seafood festival meet, we had a great time and enjoyed meeting new and old friends.(y)
A special thanks goes to @Wombles and the team of marshals for a difficult job but very well done on the Friday.
Last, but not least, thanks to @Mr Chrysalis for sorting out the I.O.W. trip on the Monday.
A good time was had by all.:hi:

Thanks one and all for a nice long weekend. Weather misbehaved a bit but we all coped. Managed to see quite a few local places of interest, Beaulieu, Hythe, Calshot, Milford on Sea to name a few. Even bumped into our old neighbours from York, who now live down there. Lovely part of the world but so overcrowded :(

We had a lovely long weekend too. Thanks to Karen and Alan @Wombles and all the marshalls for all their hard work.

It was lovely to meet up with so many old friends and to make new ones too.

Thanks to Lynda and Ken @canopus for finding us a new avatar and to Paul @Popeye for taking the photo and joining us on a long walk to Hurst Castle.

Thanks to Phil @Taran_Las for making the Motorbike Museum trip so much more interesting for Cliff than if he’de gone on his own with me - so many bikes, so much to look at and discuss - I don’t think they stopped talking all the way round - apart from when they (and I) were stuffing our faces with Lemon Drizzle Cake in the cafe! Love the new van Phil - I hope you enjoy every minute in it.

One final thing. The ‘horn incident’. Contrary to the rumour of energetic rumpy pumpy activity that Colin @Armytwowheels was hell bent on spreading - we were in fact fulfilling a public service. What to do when you are in distress in the middle of the night when everyone (apart from Jen @funflair) is asleep (sorry Jen) - you deploy your horn until someone suspects an attack/imminent medical emergency/gassing and comes and knocks on your door to check all is ok.

I can safely say you passed the test @Ven and the safety tip can now be added to @Jim ’s Motorhome Handbook!

The fact that we were both fast asleep with the telly on and so didn’t hear the horn blasting (being caused by the captains chair resting on it) need never be brought up again - once again - sorry Jen (and anyone else we inadvertently woke up with our safety drill ...) !!

Once again - we had a blast! xx

You never got to teach me how to crochet!:crying: We had to dash off Monday. Next time!!

I’m sure you’ll find much more experienced crocheters than me to help you out ;) If not when we meet again :)
