Rally Chat Lymington Seafood Festival, Golf, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Isle Of Wight (& More!) Rally August 2018

Sorry to hear your news all the best Lin

Many thanks again to all who paid by Paypal or have replied to let us know they have seen the posts & are paying by cash on arrival (y)
The cut-off time for paying in advance by Paypal was midday yesterday so if you haven't already paid then paying on arrival is the only option now so please have correct money in an envelope with your forum name & vehicle registration ready - no change will be given so any extra will be donated to Cancer Research UK after the Rally.
Sorry for not informing you but we will pay on arrival.

sorry to say, we may be unable to attend now. just back from the vets where ceran our blind girl is undergoing tests. she has lost condition over the last couple of weeks along with 20% of her body weight. the specialist vet we saw today has detected some sort of heart murmur and is querying some sort of aggressive growth. We are now sat by the phone waiting the verdict after she has had ultrasound and a ct scan. obviously if she needs an operation, then she is our priority rather than rallying in the van

I will let you know when we know more
John. I sincerely hope you both and Ceran have a good outcome.

Sorry to hear about Ceran, hope all goes well.
Love to you both.

back to route planning an doing my best to minimise the late arrival that Friday traffic will probably dictate o_O

google is showing what looks to be a bonkers way in, no doubt Tom Tom will be in cahoots and chose the same option

I would have thought that a drive down through Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst looks straighter and more logical, or is google right?

Any locals got an opinion please (y) or maybe when the journey has been done by someone they might add an opinion :)

Co-Pilot wants to go through Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst so that's me sorted(y) when I say Co-Pilot I mean the electronic one, the other one will be too busy knitting poppies.

David, I'm just looking at this route again, all fine until the last couple of miles, personally I'd stay on the B3054, until you reach this junction & turn left (the IOW ferry sign is a tiny thing on the railings )

sorry have to pull out of this rally work getting in the way hope you have a great time ray SWANSEA JACK dilly dilly off to the pit of misery :crying::crying::crying::crying:

Is here still space at this rally?
I've just today had to cancel a trip to the Norfolk Broads so I'm all provisioned up and nowhere to go
If so I'll slip the cash in an envelope to the Gatekeeper upon arrival. (Hopefully my first ever rally in 15 yrs of m/homing).
Seafood..........mmmmmm!

Sorry booking closed some time ago.

@Wombles Having checked 4 different weather forecast sites which all predict rain tomorrow evening, and given that we don't have an event shelter, I think it's wise that I cancel the quiz tomorrow night as I can't think of anything worse than sitting outside for 1.1/2 hours whilst it's piddling down. Hope they're all wrong but this is hope over experience. Sorry. :(

No worries - thank you for offering (y)
We do have 2 shelters but agree not enough for rain protection for everyone coming - really more a hub & focal point for gathering & some shade. The weather forecast was good last night but changed this morning - fingers crossed that it will change again at least for the weekend :pray2:

Thanks Wombles. I think I'll wander down for the Seafood Fest anyway and take pot luck with a CL/CS, or last resort a commercial pitch.
Have a great rally.
Sprid.
If you are in C&CC there's a THS up the road - see earlier posts on this thread

UPDATE: There is a Forest Tourist Bus service now from a nearby bus stop - not checked the details but it apparently it goes to Beaulieu & the New Forest (y)
Please bring black bin bags if you have any as all rubbish into black bags then drop in trailer (next to Elsan point) - these will then be put into commercial waste bags for disposal which is included in Rally cost . Bottles, tins & plastic into crates by the trailer for recycling.
No dog walking in the Rally Field - the field for this is the next one across through gateway at top right looking from field entrance. Please respect the neighbours & no walking past or around the hay bales in our Field.

@Wombles you might have only one shelter

for those following my international rescue post and the SIL's breakdown in France , Ive just had a txt from Kim saying that although the car was promised to be fixed by Friday, "the garage hasn't even got the parts yet" help!

so the next few hours are critical and although my van is jam gin packed for Lymington
