Rally Chat Lymington Seafood Festival, Golf, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Isle Of Wight (& More!) Rally August 2018

Just had a request from ‘Im Indoors’ (who never reads MHF let alone post on it....) is anyone else taking golf clubs - he’ll take his if someone else is taking theirs - but he’ll leave them at home if he’s going to be a Golfing Billy No Mates!

Mr Wombles is taking just a few clubs (too much rally stuff!) & think @Popeye is bringing a set so he wouldn't be the only one :)

If time permits I don’t mind caddying. No point my playing but I might put a 6 iron and some disposable balls in

I still do a little coach driving. Coach drivers love tips, coach drivers do!

Thank you - not essential to reply but quite a few asked to pay in advance so tried to make everyone aware of that option & the deadline at midday tomorrow for that.

We’ve had a last minute flurry of takers for the IOW coach trip. We now have 42 people and 9 dogs. It is a 55 seater coach so there is still place for a few more ( dogs will not be on seats!)

I would like to confirm numbers ASAP so if you would like to be added please let me know by PM

Is £10 for the coach trip plus you have to get your own ferry ticket which is about £10-£14.

£42.00 paid - ref: Cliffandger - hope that's OK.

Thanks all. I've been told a few clubs will be packed - as long as it doesn't impinge on my gin and ukes I'm happy....

Mr Mousy is keen to play if he can hire some clubs or if not he will caddy for Cliff as long at it involves driving the golf buggy and operating the drink fridge...

Just noticed this THS for anyone in the c&cc if you are looking for extra nights before or after the rally, less than a mile away from Bamptons Farm

Edit

sorry 1.2 miles according to Mr Google:LOL:

Thank you @Debs for above info. as sure some will find that handy to extend their stay if they are C&CC members - just hope their members don't follow Funsters motorhomes & come to our Rally Field on arrivals day! :roflmto: We did look at that field but a lot further from the train, ferry, golf course & spa so hopefully Bamptons Farm will be more suitable for us all.

For anyone that still wants to pay in advance by Paypal don't forget that the deadline is midday today - we will be doing final admin. & printing arrivals sheets after that.

BT are digging up the road right outside our house so concerned we may lose internet today  so if you message us & no reply don't worry we will catch up as soon as we can via phones!

Thanks Debs we do want somewhere on Wednesday night as going straight to Malvern

Thanks for the info @Debs re the THS - Aly and myself are hoping to get there for the Thursday night prior.

There is also a THS at Lancing College the night before...depending on what direction people are coming from. If we can get on the road early enough Thursday we might pitch there. Otherwise it will be a classy night in a layby for us in the South Downs:D2

@Wombles Hi Karen. Our water pump broke on our van on Saturday, on the way home from the tunnel and we cannot get a replacement (or indeed get it fitted by Friday) so we will be unable to attend now.

FOR CLARITY:

The discount being offered at Lymington does NOT involve the 9 in a box 'Samples' (Although I have to agree, it would make a great present.)

The Discount Offer relates to Three Full Size Jars in a Jute Carry Bag (or Six Full Size Jars in a Six Carry bag.) Any flavour, Any Quantity of Bags can be ordered in one transaction only.

For Info. Last year Helen,(daughter) was awarded a 'Great Taste' award for what is believed, a unique product, 'Watermelon Pickle.' This item goes very well with both cheese and Gin.
She was awarded another Great Taste Award very recently for her 'Proper Piccalilli' . All Funsters can try all her products before purchase from her stall at Lymington

Important Request:
Bring a bucket - if possible please bring a bucket to fill with water & leave on the corner of your pitch as a fire precaution - not normally required but the grass will be tinder dry.

This has been added to first page info. & if we all do this then Sod's Law we will probably get some liquid sunshine anyway! :roflmto:

Hmmm rain is forecast for the weekend.....:(
As I said liquid sunshine! Still time for weather to change - never trust forecasts more than 3 days ahead.
