Rally Lymington Rally 2019 - Seafood Festival, New Forest, Isle Of Wight, Beaulieu, Golf & More! ** Booking Closed***

This is The Needles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Needles :

Alum Bay is on the left & the white cliff to the right is where you can walk to with the NT Old & New Battery.

The sand at Alum Bay is a range of 21 natural colours - it's possible to buy some of that harvested from rock falls to fill a glass container as a souvenir in the Sand Shop - ideal for big kids!

Here are some more arty creations made from the sand in the past - think they took a bit more time to make than we would have in the shop!

The coloured sand cliffs at Alum Bay - worth a walk down to or a trip on the chairlift:

Some photos we took this year from the NT headland around the Old Battery

We have had a few enquiries from new members :hi: who have joined but not paid subcription yet - you are very welcome to join us :hi5: but everyone needs to have a current paid subscription to attend Fun rallies. Once subscribed just reply here for this rally & we will message back to organise the booking form.

Whilst the Wightlink ferry http://www.wightlink.co.uk/ is expensive for taking a motorhome or car across the foot passenger rates are reasonable & taking your bike is free plus it's just 5 minutes walk from the rally field too (y) Current prices are Adults are £16.40 & Seniors (60+) £12.30 for the return journey as foot passengers & bikes are no extra charge. For anyone who has Tesco Clubcard vouchers they cover the Wightlink ferry https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/boost/wightlink-isle-of-wight-ferries/UK-004657.prd (£2.50 = £7.50) & they do cover fares as a foot passenger http://www.wightlink.co.uk/go/tickets-prices/tesco-clubcard/ so a cheap way to have a scenic boat trip & at least explore Yarmouth or maybe take the bus to The Needles or beyond. The best views are from the outside deck if the weather is fine.
AA & C&CC members can get 15% discount off the prices above but don't forget your membership card as they did check this year as many had C&CC discount. Please note if using Tesco Clubcard points then the voucher codes received will only be valid for 6 months so have to wait until late February to change them up.
If anyone is a Blue Badge holder, has an ENCTS Card or Disabled Persons Railcard then there is 25% discount for foot passengers already in place via the website http://www.wightlink.co.uk/go/discounts/offer/up-to-25-discount-for-blue-badge-holders/

Useful tip that was posted on the forum previously is that if you have hearing aids then you are eligible for the Disabled Persons Railcard https://www.disabledpersons-railcar...zRVh963NOxc6s92-pMhoC2QcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds - it's £20 for one year or £54 for a 3 year card & the 1/3 discount applies to tickets for you & the person travelling with you as well. It would make the shuttle train to & from Lymington town plus trips onward into the New Forest more affordable & could soon recoup the cost of the card. Can be bought with £10 Tesco Clubcard vouchers too https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/boost/disabled-persons-railcard/UK-004443.prd .

For anyone who may use the train quite a bit at Lymington & perhaps at other times is to consider getting a Railcard? There are various options https://www.railcard.co.uk/?gclid=C...0hXKDfyy5Dc2U8iPePhoCAcYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds & you can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to buy them https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/boost/search-results/railcard?search=railcard
For couples under 60 travelling together the Two Together card & anyone over 60 the Senior Railcard as well as the Disabled Persons one mentioned above.

Searching on Railcard info. just spotted that following on from the Student Railcard being extended to age 25 the 26-30 Railcard that was on trial in some areas will be nationwide by the end of the year - great news for younger ones! :)

The Lymington Golf Centre http://lymingtongolfcentre.co.uk/ which has a 9 hole course & driving range is a short walk back down the lane & across the road from the rally field - we hope to have a Fun discount on prices again this year :)

There is also the 18 hole crazy golf http://lymingtongolfcentre.co.uk/new-forest-adventure-golf/ there - open every day 10am-3pm (last entry) but due to the long period of hot dry weather this year it didn't look as lovely as in the website photos below although still good fun & very popular with holidaymakers so no discount at £7 each adult.
Suggest getting there early if you do want to try it:

We missed the Charter Market this year (spent too long at the Seafood Festival) but definitely on our list of things to see & do for next time.
