LV looks like motorhome insurance is finished

I called LV about 2 years ago for a qoute.

The lady on the other end said they couldn’t qoute because I carried gas

It’s a bleeding Moho what did she expect

Anyway, it will be a model change by some accountant no doubt.

Going to put the mockers on anyone going to Morocco I think LV were the only ones that would give cover.

No. nFU covered Morocco but they also just refused to switch cover to the new van “we are not a specialist motorhome insurer”.

Just had the email from LV...
No further cover from when it runs out in October... At least i have some warning.

Well thats going be be a loss of at least 3 vehicles for them... Take my business elsewhere...

quick update on the LV story
After being contacted by AJ Gallagher the price was expensive and we told them we weren’t interested going forward . Move on 3 weeks and we are bombarded daily with emails and texts from QUOTE LINE who are A j Gallagher .
I called to complain 2 days ago and just got another call today . Knowing this, I would never have given them our phone numbers . It has been dreadfully intrusive ,

So far my best quote is 3x the old LV policy price, plus I need to fit a security post on my driveway.

Comfort have upped their quote to £3200 !! CaravanGuard are half that but with the security post. I might have to suck it up for this year as I'm insuring new for old until the MLt is two years old.

The replacement value is about 22% more than I paid but I'm having to insure for the full MMRP + extras.

Our quotes are similar but not quite that high. Still making my eyes water and some (Caravan Guard) are requiring a security post, wheel lock and CCTV. Comfort was best and didn't require any extra security. It's new for old up to three years and they also want comprehensive lists of all extras down to batteries etc. I do like their no-claims-bonus policy too. The only downside (apart from the premium) is their excess is pretty high: £1800 compulsory.

I've just had a very long conversation with a Gallagher telephone operator, not english speaking but just understandable and I mean JUST.

After a long lengthy talk about terms n conditions and paraphernalia crap he failed to get me a quote and will call me in the morning at 10am
