Hi,
I’ve just got off the phone to LV where I attempted to get a quote for a new Fiat Ducato based motorhome we should be collecting later this month.
I have a multi car insurance policy with them already and had a previous Fiat Ducato based motorhome insured on the policy earlier this year.
The lady I spoke to asked all the expected questions then advised that they wouldn’t be able to insure it as their underwriting rules had changed in July.
Anyone heard anything about this?

I was swapping from a 2014 Ford auto-trail tribute to a 2019 Fiat auto trail Imala (almost the same van) and even though the insurance was valid until April 2025 they refused to insure me and 3 different agents saying they now don't insure motorhomes, even though i was an existing customer . here's their response:-

To tell you the truth I was expecting the same sort of reply. Looks like they definitely aren't taking on new business even when it concerns changes. It's a shame as they are very competitive on price. Good luck with your new provider.

Out of interest do (did) you just have just the motorhome insured with them ??
I was wondering if there is any connection with having a multicar policy, Mine is Multicar and i note that Ditcha has it as well.
Maybe they will renew on multicar policies, afraid of loosing all the business.. ?

Mine is a multi car that I’ve had with them for about five years. I added the previous motorhomes to it a couple of years ago. So quite likely why they were happy to cover the new one.

We have a LV multi car policy which is due for renewal 24th of next month, it shouldn't be long before the emails arrive, we'll see if they offer on the van.

We have a multi Car policy with them that is due for renewal on 3rd Nov.
I spoke to them last Thursday about our renewal quote and was given a slight discount.I asked about the difference in price for taking myself off the policy (Sue) and was told by one agent we could not do that as I was the main policy holder although the Motorhome is insured with Steve as the main driver.
I was then transferred to the New policy line and spoke to another agent who told me they could not insure a Motorhome on a new policy so I went ahead and just renewed our excisting policy with two drivers !!
