Lost!! car keys.

Many thanks to all who contributed to this thread of mine particularly Minxy Girl.
New key cut, original deleted etc and all for the sum of £180.
This forum is worth its weight in gold, thanks again.:xThumb:
The lost one will now be "found" and no longer be of use to you unless all keys are recoded again!

Glad to hear you've got the key situation sorted Norman

A similar thing happened to my daughter recently when she left her expensive GHD hair straighteners in a hotel. She quickly realised and phoned the hotel who phoned back saying they had found them. She took the name of the person, thanked them and said she would pay for the return postage.
Months later she still hadnt received them and after many broken promises I told her to phone them and say that you will need to report the item to the police as stolen to be able to claim on her insurance.
Much to my surprise the police actually followed this up and said that the person concerned had suddenly 'found' them and will be returning them in the post.
Two further months and still no straighteners so the police were contacted again. Again they followed this up. The following week saw a pair of someone else's grotty, well used, cheap straighteners arrive.
She gave up at this point.

On or honeymoon MANY years ago we went to Paris in my Viva car. parked it up and went to an hotel in the Rue de Rivoli. That night we were burnt out of the Hotel escaping over the verandahs, five storeys up. After being treated in hospital for injuries we walked back to the hotel and found out the room was damaged but had to stay anyway. In the morning we found most of our goods and valuables left there, were gone. So across the road to the Bureau de Police and reported what has happened. They demand our passports for verification of the report. All finished we went back to the now broken into, car, with more goods, gone we decided to LEAVE the stinking place. At the Luxemburg border, we had no passports. I went to the Gendarmerie and they contacted the same office in Paris and said they will post them and to come back the next day. We did for several days, no passports. the Paris police had lost them!!!!!!!! We did home in the end after a long story of woe and despair..
:cry:The Passports????? did arrive back to us via the foreign office and the embassy in Paris along with a severe bollocking as to why they were so important documents. This was six months after getting home. So your keys might turn up in a few months, but they do not have your name on them, but do not hold too much hope.
