Lenny's Wandering around France again.

CCP don't own any aires, they are owned and maintained by the municipality. CCP are a management company who install barriers and upgraded facilities, and take entrance fees at aires and municipal campsites where the municipality can no longer afford to run them alone, passing most of the fees on to the municipality.

It takes time for aires and campsites which have fallen into disrepair to be restored to respectability, particularly given the difficulties of the last few years. The alternative to CCP would be that the aire or municipal campsite would no longer exist. Is that your preference?
Good info. No need for last sentence though!

Two here but not Funsters.
What is strange there is one Dutch van here first one we have seen on this trip normally there are everywhere same with Germans only seen one German van.
All the Germans are in Spain, every site or aire we have been on the past month is full of them.

Well this one has gone downhill since being taken over by CCP.

It's not just that though is it, they maybe ok now and as I have used them I can't really comment, but it's the future you have to look at, they are certainly not going to stop at a tenner, when they have a monopoly they are going to be no different than campsites.

Seen 3 or 4 Belgium vans but not the normal number.
Maybe it's because we have got used to seeing so many Belgium/Dutch/German Vans in Spain also France is so expensive now compared to Spain.

Germans might be having a so called “staycation”. Plenty of places in their own country to visit and might be cheaper (at the moment) than France.

Fruit & veg prices frightening meat and other stuff not too bad. Eating out reasonable if you have a menu of the day or formula at lunch time. Problem is spoilt by Spain and Portugal.
Sill cheaper to holiday in France that the UK.

Also although we are only in the the Dordogne it was 27° today.

Just a reminder, Lenny, as you, like us, are travelling later through circumstances.
Next Tuesday November 1st is a National Holiday and shops restaurants and businesses closed.

We will be in Holland then, ferry from Amsterdam on the 2nd.

A few pics of Souillac it really has gone downhill most of the shops closed/boarded up.
And to really pee off the visitors, sat down at a restaurant as the menu of the day looked good, they kept ignoring us and serving the locals when they finally get to us they say menu of the day finished, wasted 25 minutes so we left.

We have gone a bit north but it’s got hotter! I know you would like it. 31° inside at present with all windows open but will have to close up side ones soon when we go to sleep. French getting ready for long bank holiday weekend here at Chateauroux, not our thing so looking for a quiet spot tomorrow.

True enough, by coincidence we will be in Barrow visiting relatives on the 4th then a few days in the lakes. Not expecting Dordogne temperatures unfortunately 😂
Chilly here tonight nearly 9pm it's down to 23°.
