Lenny's heading South yet again

Oh you mean UK school holidays…thought you meant Spanish. I was hoping Spanish school holidays would end yesterday but there still seems to be a lot of screaming children running around, playing in the showers, tearing around on miniature bikes and one annoyingly bouncing a ball from about 7am till midnight ☹️

I’m sure my children never behaved like that…although I only let them out of the van for an hour a day and into bed by 4pm sharp 😊. I’m going up to reception to look for a suggestion box.
Our grandchildren are very well behaved. They should be here but for two of their schools having different holidays.

South American kids off next door, maid/nanny looking after them. Also, very well behaved .

Had a visitor this morning.

No our Spanish children go back on Monday as does their Dad.

Finally got some holiday weather 30° today lovely jubbly.

Had a bike ride around to the other side of the lagoon apart from a lot of exersize and a sore bum a bit of a waste of time.

Looking at maps/apps were were going to be cycling beside a cross parts of the lagoon, saw no water just scrubland.

'er indoors didnint think much of parts of the track I thought it was great fun apart from waiting for her.

Those olives are for gardens I think. It's looks like they are old trees which have been dug up for the next RHS show!

Modern olive growing new seems to be using much smaller trees planted close together in rows for machine harvesting.

There were acres of them all different sizes.

Lots of Campsites…looks like €20 …or €23 (not sure if that extra person is a 2nd or 3rd) with only 5amp electric. I’m on one that’s €18 + €1.75 a day for 10 amp electric. For +3.5T that is. All bells and whistles….😊

El Pinet is €11 a night with a serviced pitch, showers, toilets, little bar with fresh made food and excellent streaming wifi.

And immaculately clean

what campsites can you recommend what are cheaper or even same price

Wish we had that in the UK for £9.69 a night .
Most CAMC sites are at least triple that for a gravel carpark with no bar or food onsite . 😞

Please, oh Please can you post that to CCC and CAMC and all UK campsites.

€13 now and if you want EHU €0.70 kwh.
Isn’t that for 3.5T ? The picture says it’s €15 + €5 for over 3.5T so €20 …or is that a different El Pinet. Looks the same. Anyway still good , I’d go there.

Bonterra was €18 plus €0.50 kwh but 10 amp not 5amp

You’re right Al….although I thought it was €20 as I’m more than 3.5T. Looked like it from the picture …perhaps they know that there is no way in the world that Lenny would pay anything with a 2 in front so gave it to him cheap😊

Is that for over Easter Lenny as it was €11 when we were there in jan/feb
the new owners had just taken over the week before and food started the weekend we were their
It’s a good spot and very popular

Area Narejos just down the road in Los Alcazeres was €11 and dropped down to €7.90 a night after 3 nights

Also in a good spot with a great bar/restaurant but tbh the novelty of the jets flying over wears off after a couple of days for us

we didn’t need electric so no ehu fees

I’m horrified…€5.49 for 5 litres ! My girlfriend as I think I’ve mentioned before grew up in the Beer and Wine industry …and owned Gales Brewery….sold out to Fullers ☹️ against the families will.

She now travels the world as a buyer of wine for the UK wine industry…she has taken me around many wine estates including many tours of Bodegas in Spain…and vineyards in France and Italy….so have gradually learnt more and more about wine ….it’s an art….comparable to any Van Gogh …and should be cherished.

Recently went to Celler Masroig in El Masroig Tarragona… a collective…where individual owners have a few Hectares of vines and each one cherishes their vines as though they are their children.

One owner who showed us his vines despairs of the Spanish who he says expect wine to be almost free. He exports to the US because of that…..and has a large vineyard in The Napa where they appreciate wine and are prepared to pay for it.

There’s a great free Aire in El Masroig as well and you can do a wine tour……and drink decent wine….and no it’s not €40 a bottle …€7 should get you something decent…. Or go to Haro in Rioja and do a wine tour…Muga or Cune wines…delicious ….but not €5.95 for 5 litres…..Rant over 😊

Life is too short to drink bad wine…Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
