Really enjoying your photos of Cordoba - it's a stunning City to visit.

When we were there last year, we couldn't work out one of the dishes on the menu - Google Translate had it as "Big Holes" so we ordered it out of curiosity - a huge plate of tripe in tomato sauce arrived! And no, we didn't eat it. 🍅

Can't believe you don't like tomato sauce 😂

1st stop today Lidl Mr. Wallet fainted at the checkout bill was over €100, but beer, wine & gin stocks replenished.

Stopped at a nice Auto Caravan stop (free of course) at Ecija also known as The Frying Pan of Spain to have a late lunch & service..
Then had a wander around the town.

We had beans on toast followed by a shop bought tiramisu. Cost us about £4. Currently 20 miles from Carcassonne, still chucking down with rain. Hoping it will be better when we hit Spain on Friday.

Is Ecija known as the frying pan of Spain because it’s hot? Or because it sells good frying pans? As we need a couple.

Because it's hot all the countryside around is brown, it was a pleasant 32° don't think I'd want to be there in summer.

Jesus nearly had a heart attack just found out how much it is to go in the mosque.

Why would Jesus want to go into a mosque anyway (I know it's a fairly common name in Spain, our Amazon delivery driver is Jesus)

We enjoyed watching Michael Portillo's series on Andalusia (C5), and the last episode was on Carmona as that is where his home is - it looked like another lovely town to visit. 🏡

Somewhat aghast here. Thought you were a proper tightwad, don't you have the Lidl app to build up to a10% discount each month? (y)
