following your trip with interest and much envy, we are retired, Hymer sitting on drive, but she who must be obeyed says we can't leave the cat in care of neighbour for long trips!

Take the cat with you. Parked next to a Dutch man a couple of nights ago he had 2 cats in his Hymer. In Spain met up with a French couple a couple of times they had cat taking it out for walks on a lead.
We are limited now since arrival of grandaughter 'er indoors has limited me to 6 weeks.

forgot to mention, already take two dogs, we did 3 weeks in France in May, it would be mayhem with cat as well, they don't always see eye to eye! Cat is 14, but he will probably outlive me just out of spite.

And coming back down from Soto de Sajambre, thank goodness the road was a lot wider at this point.

We seem to find narrow roads quite often. :) I find the only safe strategy is to drive at a speed which assumes around the next bend I'm going to meet a bus or tipper truck. Sooner or later you meet one. :)

Our last cat pegged out at 18 or 19.

Bloody Nora!!!!!
Wouldn't be too keen to drive the car through there, let alone the van.
Turned the volume right up but still couldn't hear the sound of bodywork scraping on rocks.
Well done sir. You're a braver man than me. (y):D

Richard.
Looks OK to me as long as you don’t meet one of those Hymer thingys coming the other way.

BTW Bangkok is one of the most vibrant cities in the world, 24hr a day street food, very hot and humid, you’ll love it, been there and all over Thailand 6 times as my lad worked there for 6 years.

As I said daughter lives there but don't want to go when my wife is just going to be playing with the new baby. Don't mind Bangkok but hate traveling about in Thailand.

My condolences, Kanchanaburi is a must for anyone visiting Thailand. Horses for courses!

Peed with rain until lunch time, then we decided to have a look at the northern lagoon. Thought we would take the ferry across the estuary as that way only 8km as against 35km. Bad move, waited over half an hour for the ferry driving down the rickety access ramp when I got to the boat the ramp onto the boat was like a huge speed hump looked a bit dodgy. Took it very slow with suspension on offroad mode as the front wheel went down the other side nasty scraping sounds from underneath. Seamen waving at me to carry on, no way, it was either the exhaust or drivers step that grounded loads of other bits lower than that, slowly reversed back up the ramp.

Finally arrived at Torreira around 4:30pm, freezing cold and very grey, didn't think much of the CC spots so found our own.

This time no, I've already damaged the waste water enclosure and more recently the fresh water tank enclosure & scuffed the underfloor storage box last two on a tree stump. All easily repairable with some GRP.

braved the rain this morning to watch the fishermen harvesting the Clams. Interesting right on the shore of the lagoon just shoveling them up into wire trays and rinsing them in seawater then bagging them.

Those are cockles or berbigao in Portuguese, hopefully the locals in that area will leave a few behind and not completely decimate the beds as I have seen happen at Alvor and Tavira.

Went on to Bucaco national forest park, had lunch in the van waiting for the rain to stop, finally stopped at 3pm.
Turned out to be another bad Move, pard closed until further notice due to damage from the storm a couple of weeks ago.

Now at Coimbra in the coach park as Aire full.

Met the Dutch guy this morning that we met a couple of days ago. He had been over to a national park we are/were heading for. He got stuck in 9" snow and had to put snow chains on. Apparently snow unheard of in that aera at this time of year. We might have to give that a miss.
