Anyone who finds their granny squares slightly different sizes could try "blocking" the squares. I use an old adjustable petit-point frame but you can use foam board and pins - you either dampen the square and pin it to the correct size and let it dry before you take the pins out or pin and then dampen. I do the latter and re-purpose a spray bottle that used to contain starch to squirt water on the work. The wobbly edges become straight and it all evens out really well.

Don't leave it pinned to long as metal pins will rust.

Morning everyone

5 red poppies completed on our drive north yesterday. I cannot cross stitch when we’re moving so that’s the perfect time to do poppies. I still have a little red left.

Thanks for the offer of wool @movan I’m happy to receive some for when I get home, but I don’t want you out of pocket for postage x

I've not done any for ages, the squares have taken over

BUT ... I have 30 black middles already made so I'll have to finish them sometime. I made them to do on our (postponed) Camino walk so I'll do them in the van now during the summer (If not before).

I’m going to Detling Kent and Lymington but that’s it for this year x

We will be in Derby in July ...... alternatively if we go to Italy via the tunnel or by ferry from Dover we'll be through Nottinghamshire in September...... the Italy trip is still in planning though and we may take the ferry from Newcastle. I need to look at routes and costs.

EDIT: Just checked the price of the ferry from Newcastle and it looks like the tunnel is the way to go.

We're leaving Spain mid(ish) June and wandering up to Northern Germany by mid July. No route planned just playing it by ear. THEN depending on the weather we would like to go back to south Norway and Sweden. If weather doesn't play ball we're back on plan E which is no plan! Our only commitment is a ferry from Hook of Holland to Harwich on 4 September (can be changed tho) to visit mum in Retford and friends in Sheffield. At this point, if I'm still carrying poppies, I'll ask for an address to be sent by pm so I can post them on.
