A friend had made some poppies and taught me to make one!!! Mine is the light red one!
With her help I can make it it may all go horribly wrong later!!

Brilliant Anthea. Get ....... crocheting!!!

You can do purple ones (for the horses, even though you don't like 'em!!).

I think the one you've made is more difficult than the ones I've been making but yours is much nicer. May try a different pattern to relieve the monotony of the same one. Will be making some more soon, honest. (Getting a bit bored with making purple squares for the time being, but will deffo finish the throw eventually.)

Hi everyone, I’m having a bit of a rest from crochet at the moment as I’ve been neglecting my cross stitch. It was weird using such a tiny needle after weeks of holding a crochet hook. I’ll be back to hooking soon but I spend so many hours crafting that I’m getting through yarn at a ridiculous rate ;)

I’m working on a sort of cross stitch coloring in project at moment.

@Janine, re the trousers ... I am going to put them to one side as another project .. till you are at a meet where I am .......... The waist is way too big to do that, and the baby catcher bottom takes them longer than Eden ...... I'm sure there is an easy, lazy way for me to do it but would rather you saw them first. . if that ok?

Helen @Puddleduck please can we have a commemorative name added . Thank you.

.......... Tootles

I was going to do that anyway ..... plus the man in our village who did a lot of the community space grass upkeep and other odd-job type things is in a coma with an inoperable brain tumour so he will also have poppies.

Poppies bagged up and ready to go.
Can someone pm me an address please ? Thanks.

Your poppies have arrived safely and they are beautiful.

I think Helen @Puddleduck is away until the end of the month

Got home late yesterday and am exhausted. After the journey home I am not surprised that a certain train operator is no longer going to be running East Coast.....

Anyone who finds their granny squares slightly different sizes could try "blocking" the squares. I use an old adjustable petit-point frame but you can use foam board and pins - you either dampen the square and pin it to the correct size and let it dry before you take the pins out or pin and then dampen. I do the latter and re-purpose a spray bottle that used to contain starch to squirt water on the work. The wobbly edges become straight and it all evens out really well.

Don't leave it pinned to long as metal pins will rust.

less the 56 I did before I ran out of yarn

= 48,214

I had to resort to making my CAL elements squares ...... still there was a pound shop in Dover and I got more red yarn there.

Oh dear - I have a bit of a dilemma.

I walked Into a charity shop in Salisbury this morning just as they were putting out some bags of yarn.

I am not supposed to be buying yarn unless I have a project to make but this a bit special

I have heard of Noro yarn and I know it is quite expensive so I was pleased to get 8 skeins in my favourite colours @£2 each.

Had a look on ebay and it sells for 5 times that!

So do I keep it and find a pattern to make something or sell it and make a nice bit of money???

Here is a photo pf a crochet top I found in a shop in Cadiz. Once we are done with poppies and my blanket I will have to have a go :) I have no idea of the price but it would not have been cheap judging by the cost of the other stock.

Wow that is beautiful.

I think I would keep it, at least for a while, until you decide if you are going to make something with it. If inspiration doesn't happen by a certain date then sell it on :)

I have a room full of future projects :D

It is a wool/mohair/silk mix so should make up beautifully.
