Learn to crochet?

I'm making black centre's atm to take on our pilgrimage walk in May so I only have to carry one colour of wool so a little behind in full poppies but I have done another 3.

That would be great Kate @Ambilkate I don't need them until Oct / Nov ..... just so long as I am able to sew all the poppies onto the netting before 11 Nov :) I will have help to do that though, and some will be hot glued on I expect.

A bit of a problem. . . I have crocheted lots of squares for my blanket, but unfortunately there is significant difference in size between the earlier and later ones as my tension improved. I am now trying to muster enthusiasm for unravelling and re crocheting all the earlier squares.:(

Amanda is loving the poppies she keeps getting them out the bag and playing with them I'm hoping she will let me part with them when the time comes lol or I think I will be very busy trying to replace them lol

Aaargh...I don't remember where I got it from but here's the instructions:

Make a 'magic circle' or 4chain circle.
2chain, 7 treble into the circle and join with a slip stitch.
(3chain, 2 double treble, 3chain, slip stitch to anchor), all in same treble from previous row. Slip stitch into next treble and repeat.
Make 8 petals.

Hope that makes sense! :-)

My travelling companions have taken a break from poppies and are now working on a fox and a dragon - to say the air is blue is an understatement!! They may be ladies but the ‘F’ word has been muttered especially when the pattern referred to an Afghan stitch!! If anyone is doing the Aldi fox kit can you please let Aly1 know as I don’t think I can listen to much more of this language!! Lol

Is that Afghan stitch in crochet? If so, it's a bit like knitting - you crochet the stitches but leave them all on the hook, then yarn over, pull through 2 stitches all the way back along.
