Learn to crochet?

That's very good Helen. I haven't counted the cross stitch ;) I 'dusted' off that box recently but could not get back into it. Crochet is definitely my thing now.
I am trying very hard to only have one at a time on the go. I've got a cardi for Thora to stitch together and edge then I'm going to crochet some bunting for her bedroom.

I’m enjoying learning but trying to get my head around making a pumpkin, I’ve tried several patterns but they are all wrong 🤣I spend my time going from crochet to doing my jigsaw puzzles.

It's addictive this crochet lark, isn't it? Have you looked at the pumpkin Bella Coco video? Here

I love a good jigsaw too (y)

I spend too much time researching patterns and then can't decide which one to do. I left my decision on which pattern to use when making snowmen for my niece's last year so late that I had to binge crochet over Christmas to get them done in time 🫣:ROFLMAO:

p.s. I also love a jigsaw

Bella coco (Sarah Jayne) is excellent for beginners. She explains it so well and takes her time with showing where the hook should be. Honestly, it won’t be wrong 😉

I didn’t know they existed! Is it just like minded puzzlers chatting?

Not really for just chatting. These are good ones for buying/selling and swapping. I’ve bought, sold and swapped and it’s a great way of getting jigsaw puzzles. I’m the admin for the House of Puzzles one, it’s a quiet group. The For the love of puzzles is very active.

Have my knitting with me in spain, doing baby jackets, 3 on the go after i started the sleeves for the first one at craft club only to discover they were a different colour from the main part, no not a different shad a totally different colour 🤣 then started another for some weird reason. am doing boxes for the grandkids in case i am not here when/if they become parents.
Oh and have not knitted a stitch since we came away, just 2 weeks left before we come home, might get some done on the boat 🤞
think crochet might be easier than knitting so need to get on utube and have a go

I’m finding YouTube excellent for tutorials, If I can’t follow one I just look for one that I can follow.I’ve progressed a bit from Worry Worms. Made a keychain pumpkin (sister in law said it looks like a Satsuma 🤣) it not perfect but practice makes that

I'd love to be able to crochet. I'm a knitter, so I struggle with holding the yarn and hook. I love to knot socks after initially thinking 'why would anyone knit socks' I totally get it now.

My stash has reached SABLE status but I can't resist a purchase now and again.

Can anyone recommend an aran yarn, not pure acrylic for me to use for my vegan (ie no wool, alpaca, angora) son and grandsons. Or something i could add to acrylic yarn so it keeps it's shape.

I've not used it, but King Cole Comfort aran might fit the bill. The added nylon will give the garment durability.

A bit more pricey, is this one in Tom Daley's range.

Gosh that is Pricey, and I hate paying a premium for any 'celebrity' stuff, but think it would be better than the acrylic/nylon as unless they have changed are not good at holding their shape, might get a couple of balls to see how they both go.

What are you making for them?
