Well, I nearly made it ... The window rainbow above.. Looking if I had correct wool... :(by using an aqua green but failed on the violet and indigo. :( will have search. Still not got pattern yet so no rush I guess.View attachment 373434
I don't the think it matters if colours aren 't an exact rainbow match, i don'think mine will and have no orange so have white yarn soaked in a mix of yellow and red acrylic ink in the hope it will dye it! It's just a representation of it but the meaning will be the same ?

Rainbow finished - I don’t think it’ll be seen but at least I’ve done it and it’s up in the window Top tip don’t cut the thread on the bobbles until you’ve spaced them out !!!

It was lovely on our walk the other day to see all the houses were the children had painted rainbow's on the fences and pictures in the windows even though the streets were deserted made them feel a little bit more alive ?

Here's the books I have been working from. The pink one has a lot of instructions that don't work. I actually like it, as much of a challenge as untangling, can I work it out from the photo how it should be done?

The brown book I get out when I need cheering up. This is what it says with the instructions for the runner I did. The design is called Heart's desire: 'You've always wanted to fashion a flawlessly lovely cloth... one of inspired creation... truly luxurious! A lace cloth, not made casually, but a work of art... here it is... Heart's desire, serene and dainty as a drift of plum blossoms!'

The whole book is full of little gems like that. A different world really.

So beautiful.... but I' d kill anyone that spilled their tea on them after all my hard work. o_O

It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I have still been crocheting. I’m currently working on a unicorn blanket by “hooked by Robin” on YouTube. There are loads that I still need to do and some of these need completing and blocking. It’s quite therapeutic and rewarding when you can get a square done quite quickly.

They are pure cotton, you can pour boiling water over them. Have already done that because the cotton tends to be quite stained as it is so old, the cardboard inner makes it very brown. And then I am also known to have accidents involving art materials and coffee etc. especially has it has been lying around here for a while. I use the powder whitening stuff and boiling water, works a treat.

Want a laugh girls.......today I was doing some crocheting and went to change colour I put my crochet hook down while I got the wool ..........then I picked up what I thought was the hook and started again but couldn’t work out why I couldn’t pull the wool through ........I’d only picked up the thermometer that I’d just taken my temperature with ( I check it twice a day)
:rofl::rofl:

this has just been posted on my facebook from our local hospital:

Hello everyone, our Matron in intensive care at HRI/CRH has asked if any knitters / sewers / crocheters/ quilters are able make a pair of MATCHING hearts around 6.5cm/6.5cm to give to the relatives of those bereaved in intensive care as they’re currently not allowed visitors. One will be kept with their loved one as they sadly pass away, another matching one will be sent to their relative in a card from us all so they can still share something physical with their loved one after they have passed - as they’re going in a card they would need to have minimal stuffing so we can post them out. If you’re able to do this please post them to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary Intensive Care Unit or Calderdale Royal Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Thank you! ?
