Depends when you need it Kate. Theres a few Morrisons you will be passing to and from Millport so hopefully you can top up at either before or after.

There's a Morrisons in Berwick

Wild camping a bit hit and miss round here but can be done if you keep your eyes open.

Steve and Nade will be here Thursday night but we have space for another smaller van (6m ish).

There is the Aire at Hawick (but be aware that the fair may still be there, I haven't been through for a while so don't know), and the carpark at Jedburgh is not officially an Aire but a blind eye is turned for a stay of a night or two. There is no overnight parking in Kelso because they have had trouble in the past and also the river can come up and flood very suddenly.

@Ambilkate when would Amanda like to have her mega domino challenge? Would Sunday afternoon suit, or another day be better? I have a set of double 9 dominoes (lent the double 12s to someone and didn't get them back). I also have two sets of Tantrix which she might like.

Opening hours M-F 7am-5pm
Credit cards No

I haven't used them as we get ours from Hedgeley Services on the A697. Might be worth a call as they could do the VAT at 5%! Rhymers Tower at Earlston no longer do LPG.

Then I have this for near Edinburgh:

Shell Forth Road Bridge
1 Ferry Muir Gate, EH30 9SF
West Lothian, Scotland
Phone 0131 319 2980
Opening hours 24 hrs / 7 days
Credit cards Yes

Again a call to make sure they still do it and have it in stock.

Hope it helps.

Hedgeley have the antique shops as well, is that correct.

Yes, and a tearoom :)
It is handy for us if we are going south.

The LPG is on the southern edge of the services sort of behind the HGV diesel pumps. We usually drive round the back of the service station building as our fill point is on the driver's side (we are RHD).

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!

Please come into the venue from the A6089, Racecourse Road, the turning is near the new High School which is under construction. Look for people in hi-vis jackets and silly hats :) I also hope to have a flag or two at the turning from the A6089 up to the racecourse. Unless you are willing to help set up please try not to arrive before 12 noon. Time of vacating to be advised but I think 12 noon at the latest to enable clear-up.

We HAVE to abide by the 6 metre rule so be kind to Steve and Nade when they park you up. If you have any reason to be parked in certain places (eg nervous dog that requires quiet) please let me know in advance so a place can be reserved for you.

PAYMENT: I am putting together information packs and inside there will be an envelope for you to write your name / screen name / reg number and enclose cash. The cost is £10 per van per night. I do not want any money to go through my bank account for obvious reasons and would like a volunteer to help me count and verify cash at some point over the weekend - a big thanks to Norman of @normanandsue who has volunteered for this. I will be paying for the rally,in cash, as soon as the racecourse issue the invoice. I will be talking to them when I visit for final arrangements later this week.

There is a Sainsbury Supermarket with fuel just off the A698, although fuel is usually cheaper in Hawick Sainsbury, there is also a Lidl and two Co-ops, one very close to the race course and one in the town centre.

It's lovely here there are showers but single sex comunial changing rooms .we didn't use them but lovely and clean . We were told to just park up and they come to you later in day for money but if you were to give them a ring .sorry not got number as it was done through the ccc. We will be using them again . It's been handy having the car as town is a good 15min walk away but a Sainsbury's and home base and Aldi are a shiry walk over t he road . Hoping to talk to funstets who Live this way we can get a rally set up for next year .
:)
There isnt much wild camping this way so I would fully recomend this site x

Do you have to be member of CC to use it?

Peter I'm thinking it's a temporary holiday site run by the c& cc - when I've used them I've always had to show my membership card. Great value(y)

Unfortunately still st home:-(. Need to wait til Thurs so mum can have her line dancing fixes until then.

I hate it when I'm stuck here and you lot are on route. But it's great news that you are (y)

You are correct overnight parking is allowed at the Tearoom but it is not on Holy Island, it is at Beal shortly after you turn off the A1 onto the road to Holy Island

Thanks @Debs. We are members of the CCC, but I think Kate said the THS finished over the weekend. And I can't see the Rugby club mentioned as a CS in the CCC book.

We are now on a CS on the outskirts of Alnwick at the Shepherds Rest pub for a couple of nights. Off to see the castle tomorrow.

My little wilding stopover tonight

@Stewart J, you missed 3 funsters there the other night. Glencaple , lovely stopover.
Was here last Wednesday on our way North, 11 vans then, 7 tonight and still time for stragglers to arrive. It's a lovely night and the wind has dropped right off. We have used this stopover for 6 years now, being a keen birder we come all year round, it's magical in winter with thousands of Barnacle and Pink-footed Geese in the area, thesound as they pass low overhead defies description.
