That's what I thought so cant be too hard if its cable operated

Replacement 9 speed with torque converter & ECU is over £13k and a few more £K for labour.
And would cost a lot more to convert an existing Comformatic if at all possible probably well the wrong side of £20k.
For £20,000 I would expect a new engine & automatic gearbox, isn't that nearly half the price of a new Ducato chassis/ cab?

Engines are over £8k, plus a couple of to fit.
I have just looked at Vans Direct and a NEW Ducato van 140bhp will cost less than £29k so automatic would, probably, be £34k.?
I know what I would go for! 🤔

Vans are always priced without VAt so probably over 40k.
Try pricing up a High top with 180hp 9 speed auto crurise & aircon by the time you add VAT over £60K.

I'm still VAT registered.🙂
Why 'funny' ? I still have Transport Business interests.

No -one seems to have the 9speed auto but Stoneacres have a New Ducato Maxi, 180bhp, High roof, Window Van for £35.800 + VAT (add, I suppose, 7k for auto on brand new vehicle, so £43,000 ish?

Hard work convincing VAT people a Motorhome is for the business used to be easy.

It wouldn't be for a M/H, it's for the engine and gearbox and the van goes into my Transport interests. :giggle:

I asked about changing the fluid he said they knew all about the Motorhome forum sites with this opinion but said there is no Fiat directive to do so and considered it a waste of money.
Sorry but the technician is talking out of his backside. Yes Fiat now say to replace the fluid and pretty much every Fiat professional garage I have now spoken to say it is a regular job replace it. Adams Morey Southampton said last year mine was typical as it was like treacle. Adams Morey Bournemouth have vans in regularly that have not had fluid replaced causing massive issues. Fiat Italy have been in contact with them and know all about the failure to replace the fluid on scheduled services. That is why new hand books actually mention getting the fluid changed

Comfortmatic high mileage engines (in a few years) don't generally get affected so much. It is mainly older low milage vans which have not had the fluid changed and the fluid ages and contaminates

Seems it could end you in police questioning if its parked on the inlaws drive

Well an update of sorts from Adams Morey Southampton (who couldn't arrange a pissup in a brewery) they claim nobody told them the job was urgent so no chance it will get done this week. Either Bournemouth branch lied when saying that Southampton was made aware or Southampton couldn't give a shit that this is their mess. Personally I think it is the latter

I thought you lot might appreciate my entrance to Adams Morey yesterday, I know Judith jumartoo will.
Honed up my reversing skills.

They have doubled the width of the entrance so easy to get out now with all the crap on the road opposite.

I bet you’re glad you’ve got it sorted, especially as it was going backwards when you should be going forwards!!
Does it all work now😁

And for MisterB found a very nice pub for the night, beer good, food good but a bit pricy. The Flowing Well at Sunningwell just south of Oxford. In true Lenny style the lane to it only just wider than the van.

I think getting through the gate and up the hill has already daunted many a Funster
And getting in the lane from the the north can be fun.

I don’t think WESTY66 and his “great big “proper” Carthago” could get up there Lenny.
He’ll be having a rethink as we speak. 🤔😂😂

By the looks of it, it's a good job you had a good Sat-Nav but I suspect you have been there before with the confidence you drove down the back of the building?

PS. Would you have shown the Video if you had hit something? (of course you would!)

That lane looks new, the old route was through the main truck yard. The satellite image on Google maps does not show the new lane. Very helpful video Lenny HB , thanks I would probably have missed the new lane on my next visit in July.

You can't miss it well signed, the entrance was only half the width last year.
Used to be fun zig zagging between the trucks.

8am appointment better no traffic coming out.

Hopefully the` last update on this.... Just collected the van from Southampton. I had an unexpected call at just after 3 saying it was fixed. Obviously complaining about the broken promise to fix their fault kicked some bum. It drove home well enough towing the car, so hopefully done

Only charge was £54 for a replacement driveshaft seal
