As some of you know we are hopefully getting our new motorhome in early December so we have removed all of our personal items from our current one and being the honest and reputable persons we took our motorhome to our man in oldham to see if he could sort out the warning lights on the dash which are, brake warning on the handbrake and lane assist camera not receiving information.

Unfortunately they couldn't do anything so it went to Northern commercials in manchester.
£3500 quote to sort out the issues.
Yes £3500 ouch.
We can't trade ours in with its current condition so we have given the go ahead and will be on beans on toast without the beans for the foreseeable future 🤣🤣.
Don't you just love modern vehicles.

Thanks (y) the updates we needed were UCU patches so would not be available DIY but I get your drift, the other issues is the MaxiECU software goes 2014-2020 so I don't think it covers ours as it is the first of the 2020 facelift, and then it's windows based and I am all apple  we do have quite a good independent commercial garage so will see how he gets on next time I need something.

Iveco Daily 3 (obd2) onwards. Newer than MK6 (I think) needs a different bypass cable; a few quid extra…. I am apple too, so I bought a cheapie Lenovo android tablet to run it… 😉

The entire system is designed to earn money. They don’t want you or I, or anybody else working on vehicles. They provide less and less information and are as vague as possible. Even their own staff struggle with repairs but they do have the ability to throw parts at regardless of the cost.

Update, just checked the motorhome yesterday as I was back at base.
Started it up and the bloody brake warning lights are back, you cant make it up.
Booked in for Monday, they better sort it quick as the new one leaves Germany on the 9th Dec (hopefully).

In my Fiat manual in the fuse section it tells you to get it to a garage if a fuse blows rather than tell you what fuse is what and how to change it.

Remember the garage has overheads or someone on here will tell you

Same with most manufacturers these days. Certainly is with VW. Ideal when a fuse goes on a dark winters night and you’re just stranded because of a fuse.

The motorhome has been dropped off at northern commercials so hopefully they will get on it tomorrow.
You're only 10 mins away from me if that..
If you need me to collect it and test drive it down to Spain for a few months let me know. :)
