You have got me wrong, I donβt give a monkeys about them or what they are doing it donβt affect me one bit, itβs their choice.Get a life fella! I think the point I was trying to make is that it's quite obvious too many people have had too much time on their hands, and all of a sudden they start becoming lockdown vigilantes.
The owners of that van don't seem to be doing any harm, and in the great scheme of things they're not putting anyone else in jeopardy, as they're pretty much self isolating by the look of it?
If they had crammed onto a crowded beach or hypocritically told us to do one thing, then do the opposite, I would understand. But they're not. They're minding their own business by the look of it?
I wonder how any of the vigilantes would feel if that van owner took a photo of any of them leaving their house, and then put up on an internet forum suggesting that they had been spotted breaking lock down regs? I would imagine they would be outraged!
Boris has pretty much p###ed on his own fireworks about the importance of self discipline and compliance with lock down regs, so I dont blame this chap doing what hes doing in his van, whilst not bothering anyone.
But hey, if you want to think it's me in that van then you crack on!
i just contacted the police told them been hit & they drove away.reg given .couple of weeks later letter with full registered keeps details. There are a whole host of reasons against posting someoneβs number plate in a critical post, but Iβm not aware of any way of (legally) finding someoneβs home address via the number plate.
I wouldn't.I would use 'people' instead of 'government' ...
John
Thats why the Queen does not have a registration plate , so that we cannot find where she lives.
I might suggest that publishing a potential law-breaking incident without reporting it, opens a can of worms...I have never quite understood what is the worry about showing a reg plate on the internet or is it the fact that the reg plate belongs to a individual breaking the lock-down laws?
Data protection is a much used term. I am wondering, what is it in this thread about that specific individual that you believe is not already in the public domain and would break the GDPR laws?
Exactly, and in the meantime, some other toerag has just thieved a similar van out of a storage yard, has had a set of plates knocked up same as matey, & slapped them on the nicked motor, while matey, who's minding his own business, is wondering why their are deviants creeping around in the bushes with cameras....i just contacted the police told them been hit & they drove away.reg given .couple of weeks later letter with full registered keeps details.
Get a life fella!
Damn! Watching you trying to get up would have been a heck of a lot funnier than some of the responses on the thread!I did NOT go in my camouflage gear on all fours through the under growth to obtain photo`s....
Well said, I love to see and sometimes say hello to fellow MHs at our local beauty spot (Lochore Meadows). Hopefully itβs why we are on MH Fun. Life is to short to worry.Right let`s put things into perspectives....
The reason I put the photo`s on and purposely put the rear one on as it did not show all the number plate... (I have one with the full number plate, which I did not post)...
Is to bring to them that`s interested.... an ideal wild camping spot near to a rocky outcrop. and that not many people know about...
I would and will not publish on open forum where it is.... but would pm to any one (Friend.) interested..
Having second thoughts now...
I did NOT go in my camouflage gear on all fours through the under growth to obtain photo`s....
I walked down a very unused public bridleway/lane which really leads to no where..
That particular chap has gone... so never got to speak to him.. But.... there is another one there now..
And a very nice gentleman he is.... I offered a place to empty his elsan and get water... but he declined and said many thanks I have a friend I go to regularly and have a meal with...
Had a nice chat and told him about the club... and this thread.... and he said take as many photo`s of my van as you like... It`s all legal... insured.... taxed.. and paid for..(I declined).... and gave him one of Jim`s cards...
Which he replied........... No thanks .. they all sound like a load of kid`s.. (Laughing..)
Pop in, in the morning when you are out with the dog and have a cuppa T... But not to early..
Smashing bloke...
Looking back through some members post`s on this thread seems quite a few who seem to make it their daily task to have a go at some one.. lighten up life is too short..
Point taken....I will retract that opening gambit and not rise to any further provocation.Get some glasses fella...then read Rule 1
Rule 1 Be Nice.

So don't get personal "You Would Say That" or "Only an idiot would do that" makes it personal. Don't do it, it ruins the fun atmosphere for everyone.

oi! you just seriously upset my Sunday afternoon with an image of old-mo in a camouflage onesie on the floor trying to get up whilst huffing puffing and making weird noises. A bit like a giant baby wanting it's nappy changingDamn! Watching you trying to get up would have been a heck of a lot funnier than some of the responses on the thread!
Which is sometimes known as the rutting ritual of the Greater Skid Marked Auld Yin!......... a camouflage onesie on the floor trying to get up whilst huffing puffing and making weird noises. .......
Can't argue with that . What is your reg by the way .My vehicle is currently on public show about once a fortnight. Mileage is minimal for now. A photo on the interwebby would put the numberplate on show 24/7 so that is really not a valid comparison. If I were a lowlife searching for a vehicle similar to one that I had stolen, it would be much easier and quicker to google some images than randomly cruise round residential areas or car parks on the offchance.
My 2d worth.

1) Morally, they have now been convicted in the court of public opinion without any right to reply.
2) Legally, due to #1, the poster is arguably open to a libel case
3) Legally. number plates are PII (personally identifiable information) as are their description, their motorhome make, their genders and being dog owners. Basically, any combination of descriptors that could identify an individual person is PII. The regulator would have final say.
4) Creepily. Surely a charge of stalking, or similar, or worse, could be aimed at the OP for surroptious photography?
Good job we all know Mo and therefore know an honest question was posed.
The taking of photographs of an individual without their consent is a civil matter. Taking a photo of a person where they can expect privacy (inside their home or garden) is likely to be a breach of privacy laws. The other issue to consider is what you plan to do with the photograph afterwards. If the picture is of an individual, perhaps as a portrait or character study, and you intend to publish it in any way (on the internet, in a book or at a gallery), it would be appropriate and may avoid unnecessary complications if you ask that person for permission, many media organisations are international and will not accept an identifiable photograph of a person without a signed release. If the photo could be seen as defamatory in some way then you would leave yourself open to civil proceedings.Taking photographs of people or possessions in public is also perfectly legal, provided it is not done for illegal purposes.

I don't disagree that it's unlikely any of these would actually go anywhere, but PII is PII is PII.Lets be honest, PII of this type is non-sensitive and regularly (and legally) collected by companies as part of Big Data harvesting and analysis.
However, if the individual felt it was worth putting in front of the Data Commisioner, I would happily place Β£10 on the fact it would be thrown out.

I take the point about Libel, but against the background of the current law's and guidance, it would likely be a long shot.
There are a couple of MoHo's that appear near where I live, I do not think they have a full time residence and are full timers, they pose no issues, leave no litter, just park up overnight and gone the next day and re-appear a few days later and have seen them do this over the past couple of years.
So if you see a lone MoHo, even in lockdown it could just be a full timer or a health worker be kind and wish them well.
