Hey Gang, (This is not a cost related question)
I'm interested in your opinion regarding "do they work", or is it yet another item to fill up the small garage space we have.
And when I say work, do they insulate the MoHo, do they keep heat in and cold out etc...

I got my screen from Rainbow screens and I love it!! Little tip is to shut the vents, you know, that button that resurculates the most horrendous farts without letting fresh air in …. that button!!!!, before you turn the engine off and it gets shot of that draft at the front.

We were virgins to any kind of motorhoming 3 years ago and didn't have a scooby doo about anything, this forum helped enormously.
After our first 4 outings and having to wait for the internal condensation to disappear from having the factory fit blinds across the windowscreen,we bought a insulated external cover...its without doubt a must addition.

Already been said, so just jumping on the bandwagon - Yes!
Helps with condensation, improves privacy, keeps ice off, improves darkness, keeps sap and bird droppings off.
Negative: Inhibites solar charging of TPMS

Also not been said yet, I honestly think it improves security, thieves like to see what they're up against, if they think 🤔 it's to risky they will walk away and find an easier target !
Having to remove a cover is hassle to them, as it takes time.
Except wild off grid parking as said before, may not be worth it if you had to move on quickly, just use the factory blinds . . .

Had a screen cover from Polar technologies in Telford a few months ago for my Carthago Liner for two, what a difference. Fits quickly and easily and, as mentioned in other posts, the lack of morning condensation in the cab is great. Only used it in the cold in the UK so far but looking at seeing the difference it makes when we get across the channel later this year.

Yes, essential as acts as a heat barrier in scorching sun and helps prevent condensation in the winter. We bought one from Silver Screens which is easy to fold and comes in its own flat bag (as they all go I’m sure).

Went to Polar this morning to have my van templated for screen covers. What a great bunch of people. All done within 2 hours and what a great job. Had a couple of trial fits when I got home, dead easy to fit single handed. Really looking forward to using them in anger in a couple of weeks.

I'd thought the black cover would been the better choice on your's Blue Moon 🤷‍♂️ Sammy

I agree Sammy but I was advised by Caroline @ Polar not to go for black if they are being used in the "high temps" of summer.

External Minster Polar screen for me on my PVC with the privacy screen mesh and longer flap that covers the bonnet air vents. Negligible condensation inside overnight, definitely helps to keep the front of the van warmer (heater is in the rear so duct doesn't do well at pushing heated air to the front), and the flaps make a big difference in reducing draughts even if I do remember to turn the cab system to recirculate.

I don't have a garage so when travelling roll up and leave to drain off standing in the shower tray. A squeegee on long pole before taking off the van outside works well to remove a lot of the rainwater on the outside of the screen before rolling it up.
I use a 120 litre dry bag to put a wet cover into.

When I bought my motorhome it had internal silver screens which still left condensation on the interior of the screen. I bought external and they are brilliant, they really do make a difference. Now, if I could only find a way to stop the wind blowing through the holes for the door speakers 😂
Please let me know if you do

On our 2nd one, never had any draughts at all. Maybe it's the age of your vans.
Possibly , but certainly the draughts that come in from under the dash etc has been present on every one I've had , hymer, frankia, euramobil. 2 mobilvettas ...wasn't any different from the coach built ones I've had.

And the mobilvetta is the worst for insulation I've had. Fortunately the heating isn't bad in it

Nothing from under the dash on ours or the previous one. Not even anything through the air vents as the flaps are controlled electricly and not open depending on the settings like they were on earlier Ducatos.

These are great as they are extra long covering the vents and they strap down well for windy weather. A lot let air under in strong wind.
