Rally Chat In the news - Gatherings of more than six banned

We as a country have two choices.
1. Let civid run riot and spread at its own speed. Kill lots of oldes but keep the economy moving. And overload the NHS. That is what Sweden have done and outwardly everything seems to be carrying on as normal. Stteets full, businesses operating etc and the young help bring up the infection level to near levels where cross infection is decreasing due to natural immunity. Or. We try and control the rate of infection to minimise death and impact on the NHS.

None of these decisions are easy and certainly not what any politician signed up to. Its always easy to find fault retrospectively but at every turn I cannot say I would have done any different at the time.
But. We are/were really looking forward to seeing old friends at Lincoln.
Ah well.

Unless you have more than 6 from at least 2 households in either a motorhome or a tent. marquee or awning I can't see a problem with rallies or meets. They are not stopping people working or going in bars, cafes or restaurants!
I would find it difficult to social distance 6 in my Motorhome/awning unless they were in my ‘household bubble’

What are the new rules?
• From next Monday, any gathering of more than six people in England will be illegal, unless it meets one of a limited list of exemptions
• This applies to gatherings both indoors and outdoors
• The new rule does not apply to households or bubbles of more than six, or gatherings for work or education
• Weddings, funerals, and organised team sports carried out in a COVID-secure way are also exempt
• People will at first be fined £100, but this will double on each further repeat offence up to £3,200

On the face of it, The show(s) can meet the new rules on the basis that each group of up to 6 persons are "Socially Distanced" from the next grouping of 6.?

I have a simplistic view that we should not blame the government; it is the population, young and old (although the global statistics indicate the young) gathering in groups, not being aware, not social distancing, not wearing face masks etc that are now responsible taking away the liberty of those that clock-it, being socially responsible, getting on with life, work and play, as best we can under the circumstances. Outside if it is ‘Law’, if the rule book says its allowed or not there should be a common sense part of the brain that kicks in suggesting certain actions are good or not so good in a pandemic - not rocket science. Two of our young talented international footballers ruined their careers because they are selfish. Totally understand the reasons for the new restrictions and am expecting more which is inevitable and unfortunate but we shouldn’t moan.

Hopefully not - with regards to the Adventure Overland Show they have some extreme precautions in place including patrols with dogs to prevent gatherings - see post #133 https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...shows-meet-15-21-september-2020.225913/page-5
NOT SO SURE THAT WILL WORK😊😊😊

as long as not more than 6
The Oxford v. Cambridge Boat Race is in jeopardy.
At present that is cancelled as Hammersmith bridge is closed to all traffic and pedestrians and due to possibility of collapse no river traffic of any description is allowed to pass underneath. Khan has a lot to answer for.

Do you know how many people die now because of covid?
How many people need treatment for other conditions but are having it delayed
How many people are suffering as a consequence of ‘the rules which must be obeyed no matter ‘
Yet there is 1 covid patient per 4.5 hospitals ...yes, numbers Infected are rising, but deaths and those admitted to hospital are falling.
Time to start questioning
there is more to consider here than just the infection

I don’t think there will be racing at the Stratford show?

Before histeria really sets in there is a report that at the peak there could have been as many as 100,000 infections a day in the general population - at that time tests were restricted to hospitals........

The real measure now should be hospitalisations and deaths.......

Lower than ever....

Strange as it might seem I agree with some (One point to be clear) of what you say. If people did act responsibly we could all be able to get back to normal quicker which help all those that have had to delay their tests or treatment- clearly something we all wish for. People in intensive care with Covid related issues clogging up the system doesn’t help. Yes right now the deaths are lower but maybe look to the bigger picture which; prevent the spread - more cases more deaths further up stream.

Well, In theory, For the foreseeable future anyway. There should be no question of closing C-L and C-S` type of sites?. No more than 5 Units? (legally), (normally) less than 6 persons per unit. Most using their own facilities in any case?. Some have even closed any facility on that basis.

As for "Chinese Virus" spread. In one sense, the Young are in fact potentially vaccinating each other (herd immunity) by their behaviour. Some with respiratory weakness may succumb, but they should know who they are and take evasive action for themselves?. MY concern is that they will possibly be transferring the disease to an older family member who cannot throw off the infection. A sort of "kill Granny" scenario?.

Pity they hadn't enforced something like this weeks ago...then maybe we wouldn't have been subject to the idiotic BLM, ER demonstrations where everyone immediately gets immunity from everything..

then y r they letting them in super stores,in droves, some with out .dick tirpins maskes , no not working at

go on, keep fit and were the mask .ok. pj. were is my horse,it is getting high,

Whilst I appreciate the difficulty government has, there appears to be no logic.

I can park in a car park a couple of feet away from someone else, and walk round a busy supermarket.. but not park in a field several yards from someone else and walk round an open air display?

Motorhomes that happen to be in the same place are not considered a gathering( Scotland rules) unless they are taking part in group activities. Hopefully it might be the same in England.
