There are places but tbh you wouldnt buy that to use predominantly in UK unless you had a specific task like showman or racing etc. Plenty of places in Germany, France etc and see quite a few in Morocco.View attachment 657381

If I ever win the lotto, this is what I’d be looking at.
However, I think it would cause a few issues with site wardens so I’d seriously have to think about it.
Has any member got a MH that’s 11m plus?
I’ve often wondered how they get on with booking onto sites.
Have a great visit Jim
interesting but is swapping to another form of fossil fuel that is still going to be reducing in use and generally seen as being dirtier than gas the future? And how would it work if light commercials go BEV?Hi Geoff
The Scheer system seems to be the Diesel replacement for Alde wet systems, MORELO are using them on some of the big "no gas" liners, they will mostly have a generator for back up power though.
Oops forgot the link, https://scheer-heizsysteme.de/media/produkt_pdf/Flyer/SCHEER_mobile_ENG.pdf
Fussen and a *Don't even think about it!* from t'other halfWe're leaving D'dorf today, and starting a 6 day trip down the romantic road, who knows where that will lead
I think they are being used more for their greater heating capacity in big liners than any attempt to get away from gas per se, not time to worry about BEV yet.interesting but is swapping to another form of fossil fuel that is still going to be reducing in use and generally seen as being dirtier than gas the future? Ive been pondering a separate well insulated but electric hot water tank using 24v from a mixture of solar and alternator as a summer or travelling day supplement but cant see how it would be a good solution for all uses or seasons
We are back over in a few weeks and will go back there, lovely village to walk aroundWe’re in the show Sunday, camping sat and sun night then off for a meander for a few days, might even get to Rothenburg o d Tauber for second visit this year, always like to bang a couple of visits in each year

This bit made me take notice Martin,MORELO are using them on some of the big "no gas" liners
Hydrogen ??I'm at the Caravan Salon, among every new van under the sun. Has anyone got a particular motorhome they would like me to look at and offer up my opinion and a few photos of it?
+1 for FussenFussen and a *Don't even think about it!* from t'other half
Well, we have arrived safely today, parked up, dog walked and cooled off in the river, cup of tea prepared and now for 4 days trying to decide which toilet tabs to buy!!!Look out! We will be there at 3.00 today!

Oh dear , based on Iveco again, time they made a nice one on a Volvo FH basis with I shiftLooks great, but none off the line yet, the first might be end of October but they have a lot pf pre-orders. They will be bringing it to the NEC

One of those nice and cheap incinerator toilets will do yes?Anything innovative please
Be it a clever solution to something small, or an entire van, would be great Jim
I've already made two small changes to a design I'm working on, from seeing the Flair images
Any innovations in instant hot water or toilets would be especially hopeful (don't ask )
Looking forward to hear about your new Morelo purchase, make lots of pics pleaseWe won't be at Dusseldorf until late Thur afternoon, doing the show on Fri & Sat.
Looks like an STX, would I have one no, too big to use really unless you just a have a few favourite haunts that you know you can get to OK, we do see the likes of this parked up at the MORELO stellplatz and I can think of a few other places that would be fine in Germany, oh heck I am talking myself into it, how much? oh about €1m so that's got me off the hook as we can't afford it apparently.View attachment 657381

I think the days of N+B building on truck chassis are long gone, RIP Clou liners.Oh dear , based on Iveco again, time they made a nice one on a Volvo FH basis with I shift
Should bring it back, so they can add a quality chassis to their work, I know of a fair few people who recently changed to Iveco vans for work because lead times on the Mercedes’ vans was too long, boy do they regret it, heaps of problems, new sprinters now ordered, and when they finally arrive, the whole fleet of Iveco will go instantly to auction.I think the days of N+B building on truck chassis are long gone, RIP Clou liners.
Most of them will be on at least a 2 year delivery time with built in price escalation as wellSetting off soon to the Bier tent to rest our weary feet. Never seen as many camper vans on show or as few Brits. The “ Premium Hall” must have millions of euros sat there. No sign of recession here!
Cheers

Love or loathe the IVECO daily it is now the "go to" chassis for up to 7500kg liner class as Mercedes just don't do anything heavy enough.Should bring it back, so they can add a quality chassis to their work, I know of a fair few people who recently changed to Iveco vans for work because lead times on the Mercedes’ vans was too long, boy do they regret it, heaps of problems, new sprinters now ordered, and when they finally arrive, the whole fleet of Iveco will go instantly to auction.
N+B couldn't make a proper Clou these days, the bean counters have too much control and they think people want something that looks glitzy and don't give a hoot about longevity.I think the days of N+B building on truck chassis are long gone, RIP Clou liners.
it really needs something like a 10/250 heavy enough and pokey enough.Love or loathe the IVECO daily it is now the "go to" chassis for up to 7500kg liner class as Mercedes just don't do anything heavy enough.
They possibly could Jon but they aren't as independent as they used to be so they will build what their masters tell them to build.N+B couldn't make a proper Clou these days, the bean counters have too much control and they think people want something that looks glitzy and don't give a hoot about longevity.
Then it wouldn't be the sub 7500kg class though and there are MORELO Concorde and PhoeniX amongst other building liner class over 7500kg on similar chassis to what you are suggesting.it really needs something like a 10/250 heavy enough and pokey enough.
thats my point Martin, you cant satisfy all the requirements of the liner class customers and stay under 7500kgs. as soon as you exceed 9m or put a car in the back you're over weight, you even cant put jacks on some. and if you're a 40 something why would you take a C1 and not a C? N+B are missing the point. Then it wouldn't be the sub 7500kg class though and there are MORELO Concorde and PhoeniX amongst other building liner class over 7500kg on similar chassis to what you are suggesting.
Must’ve just missed you - we left there half an hour ago! Passed two other Brit vans on the way there in Sud 4 - and bumped into Andrew Ditton (YouTuber!) who was just about to do a live from P1 Düsseldorf. Hopefully catch up at some point!Setting off soon to the Bier tent to rest our weary feet. Never seen as many camper vans on show or as few Brits.
