IAN and HELGA,,ONWARDS and UPWARDS!!

I don’t want to let it affect my thoughts of mum or my day to day thinking mo,, it’s just that if I thought there’d been systematically having mum over I really wouldn’t be happy,,,

If I bother to get a look at bank details etc I’m hoping it says every penny was drunk, gambled, and thrown away by mum,, that’s the point I’m trying to get to,, by her,,,

I don’t think about it much to be honest, only when it’s mentioned on here do I run it over in my tiny mind! Lolol.

I had a joint account with my mum and it wasn't frozen when she died.

Back in 1995 when my dad died he had no sole assets, everything was in their joint names so no Probate was required. I obtained Probate subsequently for my mum’s estate as everything had passed to her. I think at the moment Probate is required on estates with assets over £5,000 but this would need to be checked.

Hope you get some peace of mind soon Ian when you’ve decided what action to take, if any. Citizens Advice sounds a good idea.

Pay the money. Go and speak to a solicitor. They will guide you on the way forward. I think you may regret not taking this course of action at a later date. At least you will know exactly we’re you stand. Not for money but morally you owe it to yourself.
But morals cost as the solicitor told us and I wouldn’t go down that road again .

Wills don't have to be registered, my brothers wasn't he just downloaded it off the Internet, only I knew he had written one and where it was, I could easily have just torn it up, then as his closest living relative I would have got the lot.

Right,, here we are!!!

I hate niggles and things playing on my mind!

Just rang my brother, didn’t get any answers, but voiced my opinion of him and his wife!

I feel glad I’ve said what I’ve said,, I will lay it to rest now,,, Another chapter closes!

Let’s all move on! Xxx

Good morning ,,

Well I went to bed at 3 am,or thereabouts, now I’m up again and I have no idea why, I can usually sleep for England!

But it was a lovely hot day here yesterday, beautiful weather, long may it continue!!

Had a message from a funster, re some brickwork for his mate, so I’m hopeful that might come about, we shall see,, but whatever, it’s always nice to be thought of, and recommended!

I have this week, till Friday to stay on the site here in sunny Norwich, then I’m off to a little cl I’ve stayed at before, the other side of Norwich!!

Had a bit of a drama with the new advert in the paper, someone decided not to contact me regarding a proof, and I was told it was in the paper when I rang to find out what was going on!! It looks shocking, wording not what I asked for, wrong colour and wrong company name!! I can’t believe the incompetence of some people,, after what’s been going on lately, I feel I’m loosing faith with the human race! Lol.

There’s a few campers, Motorhomers that have arrived here yesterday with a stunning collection of Morgan cars, some on trailers, some pulling trailer tents, lol. But they look amazing! There must be a local show on, I will find out, and see if they let me take a few pics to post!!

So, more tea,, more vaping, and a few roll ups to get my heart started and all will be well ,,,

Ps mitzimad posted that I should get a look at my mums last bank statements, I would like to do that, but getting no cooperation from anyone in the family, and being as I don’t even know where she banked, has anyone got an idea how I might achieve that!!

Just to satisfy my interest,,,

Thanks again, Chat later, have a lovely weekend, xxxxx
Just been to Sheringham for a walk and a coffee and come across half a dozen of those lovely Morgan’s. The trouble is I could get in ok but where’s the bloody crane to get me out.

When I was 17 in 1966, a mate and I hitch-hiked to the motor show at Earls Court, that was the first time I saw a Morgan close up, fell in love with them then . Now that I could afford one, I'm too knackered to get in and out of the bloody things:rolleyes:

Ian,
If you contact the Force that your Dad served in and speak to the Welfare Officer, he will point you in the direction of his Service Pension Provider.
They will need to be made aware of your Mum's passing as she will have been in receipt of a Police Widows Pension and you dont want them paying it when they don't need to if you get my drift?

Good luck sorting that one out.
Not going to bother sorting it if they are stand up about it great if not the debt will die with her
Main problem is the one with the biggest loan is jointly in charge of sorting her estate out with me and her kids owe £18k between them no chance of that being repaid

ian there not many banks about now just ring the main ones as your mum would have use the old ones

I’m pretty sure mate that no bank will voluntarily give out info to a stranger( to them). I’m over it now bob, I’m not fussed!

But if it can be a lesson to some that’s good!
X

Ian, would you like me to tell you what I think YOU should do...::bigsmile:

I think he would probably have had it witnessed by at least two independent witnesses who would have been aware of its existence. They are possibly the most relevant signatures on the will. Without them It would have been difficult to prove it's authenticity.

i use rated people but not on a monthly plan i pay for a set amount of leads that lasts a year i dont use it much as i dont need a lot of wwork
people say its no good but when you buy a job youve bought a customer for repeat work
if your in a rural area a lot of plumbers swear by the parish magazines
[/QUOTE
Another vote for the parish magazine. Cheap and got a lot of work from them

Good morning,,

Well it’s so close here today ( the weather) I would think I was in Spain!!

Lovely though!

Had an interesting evening, some Dutch couple pulled up next to me yesterday, and they were as straight as a ruler to look at, elderly too,, but as soon as they started speaking to me, I was laughing all night,, I think the Dutch are bloody mad! Lolol

So another quiet day, if the phone rings to break the silence , that’s all good, but either way I’m not fussed,, i seem to have a more laid back, couldn’t give a toss attitude to life in the last week or so, and I will admit I think it has something to do with realising that I’m finally on my own, no body to impress, worry about, think any ill off,,, I feel this last couple of days has definitely has been stressless! Lol

In fact I’m feeling so laid back, perhaps I should be in bed!! Lol.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend? Chat later,, xxxxx

He made the will in 2001, unless either of the witness's had a copy how could they claim to know what was on it after all this time? And suppose both had died in the meantime?

My sister in law was supposed to get money in a will, when the guy died the will couldn't be found so his parents got everything.

The witnwsses don't need to know what is in the will, just that you are in sound mind and witness you signing the document. Their contact details will be included along with their signatures. Hospitals have bereavement teams who can witness a will should you have left it late to make one.

Good afternoon,,,

Ok I have now moved onto a little cl on the Cromer road,, happy enough!!

I have had a call for some work from my new advert, so I shall let you know what that is when I know,, I’m not too fussed this weekend though, I’m just going to take life one day at a time,, ( as I have been doing for weeks now). I’m struggling a bit with motivation as to going to work in the building game,, now I’m on my own, I may have a think about a career change,, There is only one draw back to that though,,, I am unemployable!! Never worked for anyone really,, I need twenty cups of tea a day, and I can’t take anything too seriously!! Not looking good for a CV that,, is it! Lolol.

Nice to see you all again, I shall post with updates as and when I have something interesting to say,,, but I will still post the not much happening in between! Lolol.

Have a smashing weekend,, chat soon! Xx

Ian, stick to what you know and are good at and KISS - keep it simple stupid !
Looking forward to following your new adventures

As suggested before Ian - campsite warden, here or abroad. You'd be perfect. Not afraid of hard work, love talking to folk and helping them out.

That would keep you out of trouble until your pension kicks in. Whenever that is, youngster :D

But building would probably bring in more money which is important. Good result from your ad!
