Hold out for a good price for Helga she deserves it and money disappears too quickly!
You should be very snug in your new flat and even if you can’t use a washing machine Laundrettes aren’t that expensive.
Look at a good hardwearing cord type carpet for the flat, use the same carpet throughout (cheapest way to do it) then use rugs for a bit of luxury under your feet by the bed and sofa etc.
Don’t forget Charity shops very often have curtains and it doesn’t matter if they are too long!
Set yourself a challenge to see how cost effectively you can furnish it!
Above all have fun doing it!

This is a really good idea! You can change rugs and cushions later to change colour scheme if you get fed up as well!
 
Just read this thread, not all at once but it's kept me busy for a few days. I could offer a few things having recently moved into a flat but as your in Norfolk and I'm in the New Forest it's a bit far. Well done on getting your new flat and i hope things move quickly for you, we had to go into a hotel for a month before we moved in which rang to bad. Is have prefer to live in the van as I've done for the last 10 years but my Partner Andrew is not a long term Camper or a winter one. I'm getting used to it now and making greetings in the area, i couldn't do that living in a van i had many aquaintences but not firm friends. Good luck for the future. Keep us posted?

Great news Ian, one of our daughters lives in Norwich ? a fine city ? and when she first moved there, she had a few things we gave them, but joined the freecycle groups, she got some stuff from them, and when we sold up we gave loads away, it was very popular then, check them out. ? Bob.

 
Gumtree is also good for stuff, either cheap or free if you look in the freebies section.

Good afternoon,,,

just a bit drizzly here now, but it’s not been too bad today!

I’ve had a really nice bloke on the phone, about Helga,, he’s in Cornwall, but seems serious! We shall see!

I’ve come to terms with having this Xmas off, so I’m ok with that,, it actually gives me more time to source some more suppliers of materials out, for next year!

Im not giving out any clues as to what I will be doing,, but I’m sure it will impress some, and not bother others! I’m exited about it,, and it’s going to be a bit easier on the body than bricklaying and building,, although I’m not sure! Lol

I might keep the flat empty and start from their, if I can’t find a cheap workshop! Lolol

Just ignore the chancers regarding helga ian , as it's my email that posted the ads on hymermarket and caravans and motorhomes for sale on facebook I've had 3 or 4 idiots message me with offers also ...I just ignored them.
It will sell and it will achieve the £14.5 k or very close to it , I had idiots offer me £20k for my frankia last year when it was advertised for £42.5 ....its just bored lonely people with no life looking for any form of interaction I think lol

Ive got news!!! Deposit taken on Helga, and she goes on the 1 st or 2nd January!
The buyer lives in Truro, Cornwall and can’t get to me till then! Bonus really, only a couple of nights on sofas and move in the flat! Hopefully!!! I do hope all this goes through,, flat, Helga, I’ve sort of pinned my hopes on it all now!

and for the interested, I got very near the advertised price! Bonus! But I am leaving the extra few bits,, levellers, washing machine, cables, and a few bits,, so alls good!! Xxxx

Good news about finding a buyer for Helga!

The Cornish purchaser must be seriously keen with a round-trip journey from, say Truro, to Norwich, being well over 750 miles and more than 13 hours driving time! :xsmile:

Yes mate,their coming a long way!

but he’s got a pub to run through Xmas, and can’t come any sooner! 1/2 jan he said they’re driving up!! Xx
