IAN and HELGA,,ONWARDS and UPWARDS!!

Charlie,,, there wasn’t to be a massive input of money, just a bit of effort on his part to get a Facebook page sorted,, he hasn’t bothered, He’s a bricklayer that has been out of the game for a while, he’s been painting, slabbing, all sorts but he can’t phys do the work mate,, he’s always going on about the money,, get the money, get the money,, it pisses me off!
Ok, that was just the impression I got, wrong again:(:)

Good evening,,

Well I did the deed today, better than hanging it out, and as from now, I’m back working alone,, much more comfortable feeling!

I have a three day job from tomorrow, studwork, plasterboard and plastering in an office block! Inside and out of the sunshine, which is nice! It was roasting again today!!

I have some more artificial turf to lay on Saturday, I will take pics of my efforts and show you how I’m getting on!

I hope all are well and enjoying the sun,, xxxx

Hi Ian you not coming back down south or staying up north now?:(

Love to Julie and family! Xx

Yes it’s lovely,, but spend the money on the best,, with this stuff there’s a massive quality difference!
Friend of mine laid his garden with it a few years ago, at the time I thought it was expensive but it is absolutely fantastic. An occasional sweep and it is as good as new, the cat loves it too...:)

I would think artificial grass would be a good earner in Norfolk. It’s a retirement area, a low rainfall area so real grass needs watering to make it look half reasonable. Older people would save money on paying to have the grass cut. Probably suit Norfolk well.

Good evening,, Another unbearably hot day for work! But I struggled on till 3,, couldn’t do another thing! Lol.

Pics are of some studwork, and then plasterboarding im doing, the pic is one floor and it’s the same upstairs,,

I should be ready to do the plastering tomorrow, hooe it cools down a bit though, it’s gonns be hard going in this heat! 2326BC88-8727-403F-AF2F-932AD2451B9C.jpeg882F2405-0B94-40C6-82FD-07ABFF66B504.jpeg590A66BF-E6FB-45AC-9ED6-0AC71E447826.jpeg

good evening,,i have a tale of woe to tell you this evening,,bear with me !!

this morning i had to go to the builders i am working for, yard,,,,,
unsure how to get there i set up my iphone 8 in the holder on the windscreen,,,
its in a jacket, but doesnt fit in the holder when the jacket is on,,,,,
so itook it out,,,,,followed google maps, arrived ontime and went to work,,,,

when i got to where im working (norwich city centre, office block) i took the phone out of the holder and because id put the case in my rucksack,i just put the phone in my pocket,,,

all was good,i finished a load of plasterboarding, about 11am,,and had a brew,,,i had also just knocked up a large bucket of multifinish plaster,,,,,i had my brew and started to plaster my first wall,,,,,

after about ten mins,i had applied the first coat to the said wall, and all was good,,i had a bit of dust on my hand from knocking up,but nothing that bothered me,,,,,,then it happened,,,,,,

as i was about to start trowling up the first coat, just to take the lines out etc,the phone rang,,,

i had placed the phone by the kettle,so i could hear it if it rang,,which it duly did,,,,

i walked over to it,,picked it up with my left hand, went to answer it and with my right hand, holding the trowell i knocked the phone out of my grasp right into the bucket of wet runny plaster i had just knocked up for the top coat !!!

now if i was a sensible bloke, when i got to work,i should have put it back in the case, which is quite chunky and easy t grip,,,but im not ,so i didnt,,,,now the iphone 8 is a good phone, but when not in a case, its very slim, and very slippery,,that along with my moist hands didnt help,,,,

now i fished it out,and it was pink,,so i did the only thing i could think of,,i immersed it into a bucket of water,so the plaster wouldnt dry on it !! it cleaned up,and doesnt look so bad,,but i had to hold it in the bucket while i washed it,,plaster just gets everywhere !!

now, its not working ,,,yet, but im hopefull it will all dry out and be good,,someone told me that they were waterproof,to a certain extent,,,,but we shall see!!

i am writing this on an old laptop ive got, which is very slow, and full of viruses,,( probably due to the viewing of porn!) so i will not be online for a bit,,till the situation resolves itself !

i have no other phone,so i cant swap the sim,( i sold it when i got my new one)

but i have been told i am getting help tomorrow!!

weather was/is a bit cooler now,but still roasting at work,,i hope you are all well,,

i will keep you posted,,,,,,,but i am going to log off this laptop,,its bloody killing me!!

hey ho,,,onwards and upwards!! chat soon,,,,xxxxxxxx

PS. Sorry about giving it a ‘funny’ but I really did have to giggle.

What can you say   :(

Oh dear Ian, I've done things like that myself but not expensive iPhone.
I've heard putting it in rice to dry out helps

should rinse it in distilled water because its the minerals in tap water that do the damage

Phew! I thought, when I read that you went to answer the phone with your trowel in your hand that you were going to say that you ended up stabbing yourself in the head! And then scolded yourself on the kettle. Wouldn’t have gone down well at A&E when you explained that you were plastered at the time.

Was that amount of noggins specified out of interest?

Should have chucked the phone in a bag of rice once it was washed.
It may of saved it ?

I put my phone on the sink whilst I had a bath the other day got out pulled the plug and whilst drying myself hit the phone with the towel straight into the bath .
I fished it out quick dried it off and it was fine.
Hope yours is ok

Good morning,,,

Well I’m back to it!! Phone seems to be working ok, for now,,,, and someone on this cl said about the rice truck, so I did it, left it for a couple of days and all seems to be good now, for the moment!!

I have been working for this local builder, every day, including the weekend, and today I have off,,

I finished that studwork, plasterboard, and plastering Job on Sunday, and all is good!!

I have also laid another artificial grass area, for a lovely family here in Norwich, ( see pic)

Tomorrow I’m starting on a big drive, that has to be lowered, so a couple of days on a mini digger will make a nice change! That should in total, be about a weeks work!

The builder has informed me that he has work for me for the next 3/4 months at least, which is ok,, because as yet I haven’t got any of my own,, it seems like the traditional advert in that paper was a waste of time and money,, but I live and learn!

On Sunday, just gone, I was finishing that job in an office block, in the centre of Norwich,, it was Norwich Pride day,,, well I’m afraid I had to laugh,, I was knocking up plaster next to a large window on the first and second floor, every time I looked out the window I was looking at an assortment of fairy princesses, blokes on stilts, drag queens and all sorts,, they all looked in good spirits, and all seemed to be having a great time,,, it’s the first time I have ever seen the parade of pride, anywhere,, and I can only imagine the sights in the pubs that evening! Lol.

Hi foxy,, no mate nothing was specified, but the job is to turn a couple of offices into four escape rooms, which is a popular pastime these days( apparently) and each room has a theme, one is going to be a jail cell, one a vault etc, now due to the amount of props, puzzles etc that are going to be fixed to the walls I thought it was best to do more than less,,,

Turf looks lovely, not sure if this end is butted up or laying on the paving. If the second, would this become a trip hazard. Tell me to pisss off if you like but difficult to see from the picture. ;) :D
