OK? I'll bite.@ianthebuilder
Bon Voyage for tomorrow mate.
Ok; so you've got the Spanish lingo off-pat, now for the French. By the time you get back to Blighty, you'll be cunniligual
Drinking water = Eau Potable (NOT Eau portable as in carrying!)
Tokens (if you need them at an Aire) = Jetons (Pronounced 'gggetton' and not 'Jet' as in aeroplane)
Camp site = Terrain de Camping (there are other phrases for them)
Electricity is the same, but pronounced as in the advert "No électricité monsieur"
Pitch, tends to be the same only they say 'Peeech' or Emplacement (Om plass-emont)
Motorhome = (As you probably know already) is Camping-Car. They pronounce it 'Comping Caaar'
Reservation, Is the same, but pronounced 'Razor-vassion'
Wine is pronounced 'Van'
Beer is pronounced 'Beeaire'
Tea = Thé pronounced 'Tay' (well, sort-of)

That's about it really. That's all you need to know. Practice shoulder-shrugging and you've got it!
It's all in the nose and throat Ian. If you can roll your R's like Vicki Michelle in Allo-Allo (Ooo René) and sound nasal like Charles Aznovoice, you'll be pulling the mademoiselles dans un minute!
Last tip Ian, for chrissake don't say "Mercy" like the English do. It's Merci - like - Meeresee!
Next post? IAN LE CONSTRUCTEUR ET ARTISAN VOYAGES AU NORD
...and the thread becomes "Ian & Helga head North"
OK? I'll bite.
How the hell do you actually pronounce gggeton?
Now you're talking! You'd never guess how hard it is to try and emulate the sound or pronunciation of a word. (At least a lay person's way, without the way a dictionary does it).
Perhaps I should have said Jjjjeton
This thread is nearly at 200,000 views!
the last time and maybe have my last cafe con leche!!!!! Xxxx
Stick to the tea as you'll struggle to find anything drinkable in France that doesn't taste like barley sugar or chicory.
