I have a solution for good Mobile Data (300G) whilst in Spain (then any zone 1 country)

Did anyone else pay €15 delivery?.
I paid 15 and thought it was good value based on the service provided, number of questions answered and very quick replies from Camino.

The 15 euro is a one off payment for delivery and the SIMs, thereafter it’s 39 euro per month. Personally I think it is great value if you need a lot of data each month and know you can park it when you get home. Appreciate that it’s cheaper at home but I couldn’t find any similar, cheaper deals for use when in Europe with this amount of data.

I've got to ask ... when on holiday do you ever step out of your MHs to see the scenery etc or just stay inside binge watching the TV and googling?

Only £35.09 per month for 300gb data😊

I’ve got elderly parents and have a link to a tv screen so I can see them and speak to them a couple of times a day as well as carers and other family members. It’s all set up so they don’t have to do anything. It does chew through data so this is ideal for me.

I believe some people work from their vans whilst away Minxy, that can involve quite a lot of data, video conferences, up and down loading files etc. It soon goes.

You’re right there Minxy, I don’t need that much data but I thought it was a good deal at €39.99 a month, but when it’s €15 on top for delivery that makes it expensive.

Did you sign up for just one months usage or to you intend to use it over multiple months Mickey?

I for one think its just great value not having to worry about your data allowance and it’s a really good signal strength for any streaming or whatever 😊

I was considering this sim for my next trip but I've recently got an unlimited sim for UK with EE and I notice they do a £10 a month add on for EU roaming.

That sounds better for me unless anyone knows if there's a catch lurking in the T's & C's?

Check if there's a data limit whist roaming, it may be capped at 25gb.

I did think there must be something like that. I know without the add-on I'm capped but kind of defeats the point of the roaming add-on if it's capped that low. I'll try and find out.

There will be a fair usage cap, as suggested, usually around 25Gb.

The only way I will replace using the Tiekom service is if Starlink get their act together soon.

As per my previous responses to these sort of comments, yes of course, we fully utilise the environment we are fortunate to be in when travelling!

Dec, Jan, Feb & March in SE Spain have long and cold nights, with often glorious days… it’s nice to enjoy all available options for entertaining oneself without prattinhlg about trying to get an extra GB off this or that SIM and fighting with fair usage policies etc etc

As I’ve said before, if you don’t need high availability data when travelling, then this really isn’t the topic for you!

Some of us aren’t on “holiday”, just choosing to live in a home on wheels and in different locations. When you are abroad it makes it easier to watch what you want to watch, when you want to watch it and for however much of the day we choose to watch it. So 300gb comes in very useful.

Hi folks anyone had experience of using this deal in Turkyie would be great for our villa with being to switch on and off

I’m in Turkey at the moment. Not with the MoHo though, but I do have the Netgear router with me. I checked with Camino and it’s included in the roaming countries. I have not had to use it as the WiFi is so good at the hotel we are staying at. However mobile 4G is excellent so I have no doubt it would work very well.

Check Vofafone Turkey’s 4G coverage at your villa and if good, this will work perfectly for you. 👍🏻

Used it for 8 weeks all through Turkey this summer in our Motorhome WiFi setup. Worked seamlessly.

Me too. 2 sims arrived yesterday. Thought €15 a bit steep but having tried to get something sent to Spain from UK last year and deciding against it on cost & hassle I realised that how it is now 🤬. Also agree with one of the replies that the service I have receipts from Camino makes it well worth it.

Finally found it tucked away....

If your plan has more than 50gb per month, you will be capped at 50gb roaming data per month.

More than expected but still not great compared to Tiekom.

So, as with many, I’m the type of person who just ‘needs’ ubiquitous high bandwidth WiFi always available. The challenge for many this year has been with Brexit, the type of unlimited data roaming enjoyed before, is no longer available.

There have been numerous topics on this for the last few months; with creative solutions to getting 20-30G of data, none of these work for me as I need 200-300G a month, just to get on and do whatever we went.

Anyway, my searching and searching has finally turned up what I think is perfect. I’ve been using it for two days now in Spain and all seems to be working as advertised.

In basic terms, it’s non throttled (save for signal challenges) so up to 150mb download, 300Gb per month, rolling one month commitment, it’s on Vodafone ES and less than €40 per month. Yes that’s correct, zero commitment, no topping up, 300 Gigabyte for <€40 per month!!!!

I’m using the data SIM in my Netgear router, it was a very simple set-up and registration process and they very kindly supplied me with two sims so I can use another on my next visit to Spain. They couriered to my campsite in Spain and the customer service I received and the instant replies to messages was simply fantastic.

The company is Tiekom based in Madrid. They have completed everything with me via email, from initial contact, through ordering to setup etc. https://tiekom.com/internet-at-home/data-sim/

The person I have been dealing with is Camino and she’s been absolutely fantastic, super responsive, fantastic English and made everything incredibly easy! You can email her at: sales@tiekom.com

I have no association whatsoever with this company or this person, but I’ve been genuinely impressed with the service. Please do mention me to Camino if you reach out to her, as she and Teikom have just the product and service we need in Spain and I promised that if Teikom did what they advertised, that I would recommend her to others, so the association of me to your enquiries would allow me to fulfil on that promise.

So, the final point is a cautionary one. I’ve been using this for two days now, 22Gigabytes ‘only’ so it’s still early days. I shall update after the first few weeks and months use. Im also planning on using this for three weeks in France (zone1) whilst I'm fishing on the way home, so will be another good test.

Anyway, a long post, but for several could be a very useful one as we have all been struggling to find the sort of data usage we all expect these days when travelling!
Harvey

PS - For testing purposes, we have watched several Netflix and Amazon movies in 1080HD, used a hooky Sky streaming service on my Amazon Firestick again streamed in HD (I do pay for a full sky package so I’m not really stealing any content from Sky, just using the best solution whilst travelling) and browsed content on phones and MacBooks etc.
Did you have to use a vpn for tv? If so which one please.

cookie For things like iPlayer which have strong geographical restrictions I do use a VPN. Also Netflix etc limits the titles available to you if you are in certain countries so a VPN is useful then too.

I typically use Surfshark, but VPN’s are all as good or bad as each other really.

We use Norton as the VPN is free with our computer virus protection. Six months ago it was great and we only needed to refresh the vpn every week or so. This time we need to select a new vpn every time we turn on iplayer till we find one that works. Some times takes about ten mins til we get one that works.

Nord VPN have some good deals for great cover I realise you have to pay? But as they say you get owt for nowt these days 🤔😊
