How many nights away per year?

Only about 110 this year but we were vanless from early May until the 1st August so missed our UK travelling and fun rallys this year. Also had our daughter’s wedding in August just after we collected our new van.

Plan on doing better next year. We’re off to Iceland and the Faroe islands in June and July.

Normally around 120. This year has been pants though with only 30 ish due to a few abnormal happenings in life. Planning to make up for it next year though.

For us motorhoming is only one type of travelling that we like to do though. We do get awaynfor quite a bit of long haul stuff too - 33 days in South America (Patagonia) in January.

120 so far this year - double what we managed last year.
Perhaps my 'trial retirement' in 2024 had something to do with the increase?
I think I'll continue the trial for a bit longer ;)

107 this year, mix of Europe and Uk, Down in Chertsey CCC this week visiting our grandkids. This us our first full year of retirement, we like a mix of holidays/travelling, motorhoming, long haul to Africa/Asia and cruising as well as 3 of 4 trips to Boston each year to see our grandkids there.

36 days, all abroad. A pitiful amount compared to some of you lot, but we are still working and have kids at school. We make the most of what time we have available to us and keep dreaming of a time when we will be able to go away for more.

A few, no where near those above, however, remember them as miles per year travelled rather nights away, usually between 10 and 13k, suspect my miles travelled per night stayed is quite high.

Around 100 nights out with the van, so far this year.
We are still working but we make the most of holidays and weekends.
Most of the time in our home country, and if we have more time we travel a bit further north on the continent.
After 26 months with the van and 36000 km, we still consider ourselves newbies 😄

35 nights in France, 10 in Germany/Begium, 23 in the U.K. plus another 3 this weekend.

Normally much higher than that but driving this year was curtailed by operations on both hands and the m/h being off road for five weeks while a major electrical fault was diagnosed and fixed.

Not as many as when we first got a motorhome 😢 school run duties will decrease this autumn so might get a few more trips in UK at the end of next year. Trying to persuade john to take a spring holiday to France, anywhere abroad, but golf gets in the way. Already booked for our autumn trip.
May be forced to go on my own.

That sounds interesting. Is it a organised trip or DIY, what's the ferry route(s)?

It’s an organised tour with GB motorhometours. Hirtshals in Denmark to the Faroes and then Iceland. On the way back we have 2 nights and 2 days in the Faroes which will be exciting.

They’re a very good company. They do all sorts of tours but we go with them to the places that would be a bit more complicated to do on your own. It’s also fun. We went to Bulgaria and Romania with them this year and Turkey &Cyprus last year.

Over 50 the past two years, but will struggle to hit 40 this year.

Post covid business travel scuppered our usual Autumn week.

Still, only 8 years, 3 months and 4 days till I can bin all that off, not that I'm counting :whistle2:

20 UK nights, sold the van in September.
Waiting for Carthago to renew their 2025 Homolgation cert, then we can take delivery of our new van.
AIM to do at least 120 next year😎

Our goal was always to use any van we bought to the max. We've had too much trauma and life changing situations in our lives. Which lead us to that decision. Whether at home or abroad, we always aim to enjoy what time we have left. Be that in a car park, beach, aire, or on the odd occasion, a site.

We'd never camped our caravaned before in our lives. So the change to motorhoming has been fundamental and most enjoyable.

Long may it continue to be so.

Just over 100 nights away last year and the year before, all in the UK.
Due to the poor UK summer this year and some health issues only 60 odd nights this year, all UK.
Hoping for over 100 nights away next year again in the UK, fingers crossed.
