How many nights away per year?

Picked our new one up on 12th June, 70 nights so far, normally do 120 + a year.
Two 45 day trips abroad sometimes a a short 3 week one as well. Don't do much in the UK the odd festival & rally and sometimes the odd THS.

I calculate that we spend the equivalent of 3 months of the year touring NZ in our motorhome. We have just returned home after spending 5 weeks going around the South Island (again). Next year, we’ll go around the North Island (again). That’s all we can do and it’s quite frustrating that we’re limited to NZ with our van. 99% of the time we are wildcamping.
We arrange a lot of house exchanges around the world, so when we have to leave our house for the exchange guests we just go away in the motorhome.
Most Funsters are very lucky to have the whole of Europe on their doorstep. We can’t even take our van to Australia. If we could, we'd probably be away for six months of the year.

its been a poor year for us. So far on 43 nights in the van. Both UK and Mainland Europe.

Should be another 18 from next weekend though. If I get the adblue sorted that is.  Hopefully Tuesday.

normally we have been around 70 to 80 annually since we got the van. Majority of which is over the water. I don't mean Sunderland either :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We’re on our second 90 EU trip, work the dates out very carefully, this trip Portsmouth to Santander so 90 days start at day of arriving Spain down to Portugal. Have to get the ferry back on our 88th as no ferry on 90 th. Earlier trip Plymouth to Roscoff start of 90 left Roscoff to Plymouth on eve of 90 th so 178 days in the last 360.

We only got away about 30 nights. Longest was 9 nights in Scotland. We get away most months from March to October/November. But grandchildren, medical stuff, and a garden dont let us go anywhere for long periods of time. We are booked for three nights away in March, and two nights at Stoke Marie in June. And there are a few plans floating around.

2023...Over 240 nights in MH..
2024...189 to date and away now.
Although we have an apartment here in España we still prefer being out and about in the MH...I suppose we will settle down one day..😃🇪🇦

Edit..My calculations are made easy with our Smart meter app for electricity..it's obvious when we aren't at home by the consumption..👍🇪🇺

65 this year. 2 nights at least every other weekend, plus this year 8 nights down to Norfolk and 9 nights for Isle of Man.
Giving this weekend a miss as the weather looks abysmal and I've got a children's hospital ward charity ride on Sunday.

Funnily enough I just completed this years spreadsheet this morning. (I know, I know I am,... Mrs B says the same.)
We're retired and part of that retirement was an intention to travel. We've done 116 nights this year 23 in the UK and the rest in Europe. We would have done more but we put off our Autumn trip to France as our most recent grand-child was born in October.

When we were tuggers had a spreadsheet with full details of number nights, club or private site, mileage of each journey, including for servicing/warranty work, price per night. Working full time.

Now winding down to retirement, just over 8 months to go. Haven't kept a record since getting the MH last Sat of June '24, but a fair few. Averaged every other weekend and a few longer breaks so far.

Thankfully Jim has produced a yearbook that can be completed in the fullness of time.

Do have an App for the tracker on the MH that gives every journey details, another on MercedesMe that gives journeys and fuel use.

All this tech will make retirement so much easier, who'd have thought

Prostate cancer treatment & an engine management light problem has limited us to only 77 nights away, so far, this year.
74 in Europe & 3 in England.
The 3 nights here have been overnight stays to enable work to be done on Biddy. One night at Port Solent before an appointment with Simon at Adams Morey, for a Comformatic gearbox oil change & new drive belts.

Last night I returned from a two days visit to Roger & Nigel Ivy, at Offgrid Power Solutions, for a full Lithium upgrade. They also swapped my LPG Truma 6E for the Diesel version, an absolute game changer
Now planning a short trip away so that we can test our new offgrid capability :dance2:

We only use the MH in Europe and Morocco. Over 7 years we have averaged 120 days pa. In 2024 it was 169 and we plan to target the full 180 days in 2025.
